    I use ply as mdf tends to go bad quicker when exposed to moisture - i find... but i dare say others may have a different opinion. Never had any problems with ply.

    As above really... turn off all rads - then if heat reaches the dodgy rad just turn lockshields on about 1/8th of a turn on other rads... Google/you tube ‘balancing radiators’ - follow their guidance.

    Seal gone. Part not immediately available Spilling POC. Correct call by british gas, them’s the regs. If i had to wait a few days for a part to arrive in this instance you’d have to cap it... Shame they ‘cocked up’ - you do wonder about installer incentives though.

    Vertex flue? Yeah - engineer not correct in my mind. Post above is quite correct. Check condensate is draining if it is then a flue integrity check would be next stop.
