    Satinwood Paint

That is pretty much what I do. I also use the Purdy brush comb which really helps. Once I dip it in water before painting again, the bristles do go back to how they should do. In the past with other brushes I'd dry them with a rubber band around the bristles, but Purdy do say not to do that.

    Satinwood Paint

What do you do to stop the Sprig from fraying outwards when drying? Only my Sprig does it, but my regular Monarch Elite XL's don't suffer from this.

    Satinwood Paint

Meths helped, looks like my brush will be ok. Do you find the Purdy Sprig gets some bristles sticking out, but further up from the tip? I have a few, thinking of cutting them off.

    Satinwood Paint

I'm using a Purdy Sprig too, I've been dipping it in water as I go. Thanks I will try meths later.

    Satinwood Paint

Just an update to this thread. I've been using the Aqua Guard now and I like it. It goes on and flows like a solvent based paint, but I don't get the easy runs and curtaining which the runniness of the Dulux Diamond gives. The only gripe I have is that for a water based paint, it's quite...

Miss calculating… is there some easy way?

Buy a scale ruler and do the drawings using that.

Double Council Tax on unoccupied home

Dealing with local councils, I don't envy them.

    B&Q - How much compensation?

Oh yes I see, a microwave combi, yes it's not a full sized oven.

    B&Q - How much compensation?

Well I can't imagine why you could only cook one pizza at a time, I can fit more than one in an oven.

Not to worry, I'm sure we can sharpen the content.

Bonkers price ranges for a drill right angle attachment

Well it looks as though you've drilled down some of the things to consider.

Bonkers price ranges for a drill right angle attachment

Well I suppose there's another angle to it.

Bonkers price ranges for a drill right angle attachment

At that price I'd probably chuck the idea.

    Boarding a cold porch

Use the board with insulation on the back. You can get polystyrene backed which I did in my porch as I didn't want to bring the walls in too much, but if you have the space, you can use the foil lined celotex backed plaster board. I screwed mine into the walls, then filled the holes and painted...

Thames Water build over agreement for 823mm pipe

Yes, they are required and organised by Thames Water, you just need to tell them as soon as you've 'built over', then they'll organise the second survey.

Hairline cracks in screed - problem?

Wouldn't worry about it, as screed is rarely level, usually dips in the middle. Last one I had done, I poured self levelling latex over the entire floor.

Thames Water build over agreement for 823mm pipe

About 7 years ago, the invert level was 450mm and the pipe diameter was 200mm. I know they charge different amounts for different pipe diameters, why I do not know as they're not the ones actually doing anything.....

Thames Water build over agreement for 823mm pipe

Yes, I've done this with Thames Water. Mine wasn't as big as yours, but cost around £600. I did the drawings myself to save money on those. TW required me to have 300mm clearance around the pipe.

    Diversity gone mad

In the RAF, two junior ranks were and always have been LAC and SAC, Leading Aircraftsman and Senior Aircraftsman. They've been renamed now, to remove 'man' from the name.
