Hi JasonF When you say engine is dead do you mean engine not turning over? if so check all earth wires are clean and tight(battery main earth as well) as a bad earth will put light on ,cause a misfire and engine will not crank ,worth a look at. Earth faults cause a lot of funny problems

HI Check that the handbrake releases correct. Jack the rear up apply handbrake then release it and check that the wheel can revolve same resistance on both sides do about 5 times. Linkages from cable to calliper can seize up causing brakes to hang on.

If starter is dead no noise at all ,worth checking starter relay .

Try pouring boiling hot water over the alloy by the stuck bolt. Put back the other bolts first and tighten them fully first. Good luck

You could try turning water off to header tank keep an eye on water level in tank to se if it goes down
