    Leaking sink waste

Many Thanks mate will try that, did you see those black washer type things that slip over shouldn't they all be cone shaped? As they aren't cone shaped all flat apart from the one that goes onto the large nut that connects up to the solvent pipe? Also my post above regarding the nut in the...

    Leaking sink waste

Oh I see therefore I need to get this trap instead? https://www.screwfix.com/p/mcalpine-sink-kit-white-40mm/801hr As the one I have the 2nd part won't reach the strainer..... Then I just need to cut the elbow off the existing solvent weld pipe coming out of the floor and extend that up to...

    Leaking sink waste

Hi Johnny, Many thanks for your response much appreciated. Image 4 definitely doesn't have a washer inside, however I do have one of those black rings left over the same as the other ones that slides over the pipe, shall I put this inside? I've tried and it does go in just about but it doesn't...

    Leaking sink waste

Also for the 2nd strainer even if I was able to solvent weld a new pipe to reach the 2nd strainer I don't have a thread on the solvent weld pipe to screw onto the nut on the trap?

    Leaking sink waste

Hi Chris, it's the solvent weld pipes that I can't see being able to join onto the trap to extend it up to the strainers, I've attached photos below, one showing the 40mm coupler on the 40mm pipe (that feels and looks fine and I can see would work and be watertight even without the solvent) but...

    Leaking sink waste

    Leaking sink waste

Hi Chris many thanks, just waiting for Johnny to confirm regarding my last post and will then do the above what you've suggested to make up the difference in height, however the other problem I seem to have is the 40mm elbows, coupler, and pipework I purchased today all slip into each other...

    Leaking sink waste

Hi Johnny, I've attached a photo below of the large compression nut, with the red ring and the tapered washer? I didn't use this as on the existing white pipework I took the male both sides coupling off as that looked like it was no longer needed for this setup and was planning on reusing the...

    Leaking sink waste

Hi Chris this is how I'm proposing reattaching it as per the photo? Do all the washer things look right and where they should be? The bit that extends up to the strainer doesn't have anything in the end of it? But I've got 3 bits left over as per photo? As per the previous photo above not all...

    Leaking sink waste

Hi Johnny here is the photo of all the parts I got in the bag, that upright to go to the bottom of the strainer doesn't have any washer in it? At a bit of a loss to what goes where as if doesn't tell you on the instructions?

    Leaking sink waste

Hi Chris will that bottom black washer definitely not pull off with the water weight as the u bend will be about 1inch above the plinth? As I've tried pulling it off by hand and is possible? Can I still reuse this washer even though I've been pulling it off and on?

    Leaking sink waste

Hi Johnny I purchased 40mm Pipe and 40mm couplers and elbows as I read on Google that sinks have 40mm Pipe and basins 32mm, I fooked up! Therefore I will need to buy some 32mm pipe and couplers to match the trap?

    Leaking sink waste

Hi Chris it doesn't seem to be adjustable? Unless I've already got it on its maximum? Also would you mind please taking a look at the below photos as I'm not sure which way around the pipe goes is it with the black ring at the top of the pipe going into the bottom of the strainer or with the...

Can't believe it I'm short on the connection? This is with pulling the cement welded pipe up to its maximum as well, will I need to purchase any new parts? Photo below

    Leaking sink waste

Does this look correct to you? The joint on the left has the red ring and the black seal/retainer, however the joint on the right looks like it has a different type of black ring and that's all it has for the nut to go over it? Doesn't it need to ime the ring and a sealer/retaining ring? (edit...

    Leaking sink waste

Can't believe this Johnny well spotted they've left my jubilee clips out! I normally check the items off the list but because I had to go back in to purchase a hacksaw to cut the pipework I let my daughter put the stuff in the car and they also didn't take the items out of the bag to check in...
