People can smell certain stuff differently . Just because you have turned gas off doesnt mean there is not a leak before the valve It is completely free to call out the emergency service and they certainly do not mind false alarms so give them a call to rule out it being a gas leak 0800 111 999

if your looking at stelrad then have a look at wickes radiators these are made by stelrad and far cheaper

Totally agree with Gasguru here far too many youngster/inexperienced people out there that want to charge the cust for their learning experience instead of for the job Its frightening what some people want to charge for a few hours work

what make and model of boiler do you have Expansion vessel probably needs recharging and prv renewing or freed

As per molerat but when you take the nut off get a small electricians screwdriver look inside the valve and where the pin sits give it a wiggle as that part of valve sticks on seating

Yep venturis fall apart and can stop the diaphragm moving enough 24mm ring spanner required for changing them Then check in hole for any of the broken bits if there is tape a bit of garden hose to hoover hose and suck them out . . the venturi is on the lefthand side of the righthand brass...

when the heating has been on for about 20 mins check to see if pressure gauge is rising into the red if so expansion vessel needs recharging . .
