    Shower switches off

Hi again, water pressure is the same as before. The shower unit works for a few minutes and then just stops? Is there a part which goes wrong in these units?

    Shower switches off

Just tried it again and the same thing happened - it switches itself off in about 4 minutes. That's deffo not too long? What could have gone wrong with it?

    Shower switches off

Hi all again..... I posted a topic a while back about my shower unit tripping it's MCB. This issue was fixed by an electrician at the time but now I seemingly have another problem. It's a Creda 10.5kW shower unit fed by 12m of 10mm twin & earth cable, fed by a 45Amp MCB. The cable runs...

    Saniflo Pro Blockage

I'm not sure if you said that sarcastically, but trust me, it's not far off what may well happen! How do you open the Saniflo unit up? Are there clips/screws etc holding it together? Where are they located?

    Saniflo Pro Blockage

Hi all, I have a Saniflo Pro system in my under stairs area servicing 1 WC and 1 hand basin. It has been working fine until my wife flushed a baby wet wipe down the WC. It now seems to be caught in the macerator which makes a loud noise when operated. Does anyone have any instructions...

    Shower MCB

Thanks for that, but what about the 45amp isolator switch which is in place? If a 50amp mcb is fitted, could this not be dangerous as the isolator switch has a max rating of 45amps?

    Shower MCB

1 final question. I think this was why the system was set up with a 40amp MCB rather than the required 45amp one. I've been speaking with the electrician who fitted it and he advised me that the manufacturers do not make a 45amp MCB. Thisa was why he fitted a 40amp one instead. I want to...

    Shower MCB

Thanks for all the help, I didn't that a cooker switch could be used - makes sense I guess, after all it's just an isolator. Many thanks for all the help.

    Shower MCB

[/url] I think that this may be part of the problem - the isolator switch that I have is not of the pull cord type. It's a wall mounted switch with a neon light in it. I think the max rating that was available when I had the house re-wired was 40Amps and that's why the MCB was rated at a...

    Shower MCB

Many thanks again - could you post any links for trusted sites which sell 45 or 50 amp triple pole isolator switches?

    Shower MCB

Thanks for the help all, is a 40amp MCB dangewrous in this situation? or just not the right one to use? I think that the 40amp MCB was used as the cut off switch for the shower is rated at 40amps. Are larger cut out switches than 40amps now available?

    Shower MCB

Many thanks for the replies, it is deffo the MCB and not the RCD. It is a 40W MCB, the cable that it services is a 10mm twin and earth which is a max of 12m long. The shower is 10.5kW's. It has been working fine with no trips or problems since it was fitted (3 years). Many thanks

    External Light With Sensor

Good morning all, I have an external light with a PIR sensor on it which is normally left on for security reasons. Recently though, it seems to come on by itself. On looking outside, there are no cats/birds/persons etc out there? It just seems to come on for no reason at all? Is this a...

Bathroom fan with noisy outside shutters.

I also should have added earlier, if you have an electric shower and the fan is venting the warm moisture out in winter, you'll start to get condensation and damp in your loft if your fan is vented out via the loft space as your plumber has suggested. Can you take and add any pics showing the...

Bathroom fan with noisy outside shutters.

I don't think that this is much of an electrics issue, sounds more of a building thing. Personally, I'd say remove the shutters from the inside and fit an air brick in the hole in the wall from the inside too. that will let the fan on the inside vent outwards.

    Outbuilding Lighting

I posted a topic regarding my outbuilding/office and had a question regarding the lighting. There will be 6 LED spot lights in the ceiling in 3 rows of 2. The rows can either be set up in parallel or in series. I remember at school parallel lights running off of a battery shone less...
