How about BIN red as a knotting primer on new wood followed by cover stain for very good coverage .....and quicker drying time than oil based undercoat ? Or would you suggest a leyland acrylic undercoat x 2 ? on top of BIN red ?

I have put some cover stain on a primed new wood surface two days ago and it's very hard to scratch test It's obviously more expensive than acrylic primer undercoat or oil based undercoat but the coverage is far better And of course it dries far quicker than oil based undercoat
