Draught from glazing pane, uPVC French Doors

I’m not offended and I appreciate your time, opinion and response and I also the response of everyone who has contributed to my post. I have no intention of paying to have new French Doors fitted myself. My intention is to gather as much the information as possible to use it as ammunition to...

Draught from glazing pane, uPVC French Doors

Although I appreciate your response and opinion but Please don’t advise on how to address I’ve had local MP and Housing Ombudsman already involved and regarding an unrelated issue but still concerning the HA and a repair, despite the local Councillor and an MPs involvement, a letter to No 10, as...

Draught from glazing pane, uPVC French Doors

Tenants can’t phone Housing Association every day to complaint, as we only get through to a call centre, that takes the complaint to be passed to relevant dept. If anything is said during the telephone call which the call handler dislikes, your telephone call is terminated.

I don’t know whether I got the FENSA £5 test in writing, it was mentioned by the surveyor who carried out the survey who got the previous French doors replaced.

As said, this has been an on going issue for many years, one of many. The Housing Ombudsman, local MP and letters to No 10 been involved regarding another issues, and still taken 2 years before the issue was addressed, so please don’t be thinking I’m incapable of addressing this.

Draught from glazing pane, uPVC French Doors

I appreciate your response, however within months of doors being fitted, there was a noticeable draught, far worse than the previous doors and after various inspections, the HA finally accepted the doors were too short for the frame. The current doors were taped up within days of installation...

Draught from glazing pane, uPVC French Doors

Until I’ve recently re-taped up the doors due to the exception coldness, especially throughout winter and so looking more presentable now; How they’re were depicted in the photos, I kept them looking like that for the Housing Association to inspect them; to see how poorly they’ve been fitted...

Draught from glazing pane, uPVC French Doors

The gap is against the doors and the frame, which I’ve now taped up. I posted photos on here of hinges, and was told they can’t be adjusted and before posting, I tried to adjusting hinges myself...

Draught from glazing pane, uPVC French Doors

I have uPVC French Doors to 2nd floor Juliet balcony, which I’ve had never ending issues with and within my Housing Association property. Extractor fan insect mesh insert ?

Before new fans fitted, no insects on kitchen worktop below fan. Since fans fitted, insects on kitchen worktop below fan. Maybe only 2 or 3, every so often but I much prefer none, so, the easiest solution is to fit a mesh similar to what was fitted to the old fan.

Extractor fan insect mesh insert ?

Don’t put the onus on me. If someone can’t provide an answer or a solution, then why even respond. The responder asked a silly question; if they truly believed it was a rhetorical question, then it didn't need a reply They quoted that particular passage of my post, taking it out of it...

Extractor fan insect mesh insert ?

To keep insect out, isn’t that obvious. I don’t like finding dead wood lice, earwigs or other things on my worktop below the fan in the kitchen or on top of the toilet cistern in the bathroom.

Extractor fan insect mesh insert ?

Right, as these b….. fans run continuously and if there’s a sufficient speed/force to push the draught shutter open, then it’ll be no better as the force generated by the fan may prevent the shutter from closing. Currently, other than the insects, it’s a persistent draught that’s barely...

Extractor fan insect mesh insert ?

The fan getting clogged, trust me, it has never occurred and the old fan in the kitchen had been in use for 20 years and other than being wiped with a damp cloth, it has never been cleaned of vacuumed. Both fans are easily accessible within the property and the fan in the kitchen often has...

Extractor fan insect mesh insert ?

However, although there’s no heat recovery system, my idea of inserting draught shutters may not be possible, as my new fans run continuously at a low speed, which can’t be switched off and it could be of an insufficient speed/force to push open the shutters and could possibly cause the fan...
