    16mm T&E for external building

thanks for all your help. seems that i'm going to require SWA. My only other question would be. There is a 3m gap between the wall its clipped to and the house. Am i best to bury the swa or run it high? If bury does it have to be very deep?

    16mm T&E for external building

Hi, no, nothing metal coming up at all. The only thing close is the old metal drain pipe, but it doesnt touch and will be connected via plastic to the building.

    16mm T&E for external building

Yes, that maybe true, but if i have that attitude with the 1000 other things i need to buy to make it up to decent spec it does add up. I've just had a similar conversation over buying 800 bricks. Haggling them down from 55p a brick to 35p doesnt seem like much but over 800 bricks it really...

    16mm T&E for external building

Where did you see it for £2.90? I've been looking at 3-core though as i assumed it would need an earth. I've put the pricing i've seen below and it comes out quite a bit higher. Im not saying i'll quibble over £27.50 though, i just don't want to throw money away if its not necessary. I was...

    16mm T&E for external building

I was working on £2.68/m (inc vat) which was the cheapest 16mm2 T&E i found online so over 25 metres its not an insignificant cost.

    16mm T&E for external building

I was quoting 16mm based on the amp draw of a shower and kettle over a 25m run. I assume 10mm will be too thin for this? The underground water pipe is all plastic. I think it was all renewed in the 80's. Someone also mentioned that i could use a earth spike for a ground? Is this practice still...

    16mm T&E for external building

I was planning to use all plastic if possible, but as for equipotential zones i'll leave that to the professionals. I know my earthing goes back to the provider as there was a fault with it on the nearby pole last winter that caused all my lights to flicker. will 16mm T&E not fit in 25mm...

So if i throw up a little stud partition with a door everything should be fine? Its 31sqm to give you an idea of size.

    16mm T&E for external building

Yes, it will be clipped to the wall again about 3m above ground level. The outhouse used to be a toilet block for a victorian commerical laundry so its fairly big.

It will be above ground. Does this still count?

    16mm T&E for external building

Thanks, i'll maybe speak to a couple first and see the lay of the land... "Oh, cheap doesn't come into this. There is one way to do it safely - and it doesn't involve meter tails or T&E" please enlighten me!

    16mm T&E for external building

Hi, I'm currently in the process of upgrading a little outbuilding. It was an old toilet from the late 1800's , but i'm planning to put a shower in it too. It currently just has a single light on the ceiling on very old cable so i'm looking to re-run this from the house so it can take the...
