    Extension costs in 2021

A big part of the price hikes is demand is soaring- its not all supply issues. Im currently having a 2 storey side extension. Ground floor is a garage and dining room, upstairs is a bedroom and en suite. The building firm are basically building the shell - footings (which are 7 feet deep )...

    Power showers

Cost difference between 32 n 25 was negligible..... didnt see a reason not to go for the 32. It probably won't make much difference, but I just thought wtf not.

    Power showers

I tested again today and the static pressure was lower..... no idea why, but it was 50psi/3 Bar static. I left it connected and opened the kitchen tap and bathroom tap at the same time, and the dynamic pressure barely moved.... it stayed around 3 Bar. With a 32mm water pipe upgrade..... at...

    Power showers

Measured my static pressure. Its 60 psi (4 bar) will i see a noticeable improvement in flow within upgrade from 15mm to 32? Think the com pipe is 25 tho. Will this be enough to run an indirect cylinder?

    Power showers

I assume the dynamic pressure will remain the same once that supply pipe is upgraded from 15 to 32? I believe its 25mm to the boundary then it drops to 15mm from the boundary to my internal stop tap.

    Ordered one. Cheers again.

    Power showers

No...... but I'll speak to United Utilities during the water main upgrade....... they'll come and measure it. Once I know that, I'll come back to u...... thanks for the advice

Can the water be pumped from a indirect cylinder, or is it just mains pressure

I'd be buzzin if I knew what u meant Bluey lad..... I have a ecotec 32 boiler..... if that matters

    Power showers

At the moment, I get 16 litres a min from the cold...... the house is fed on 15mm copper from the street but I'm in the process of fitting a 32mm mdpe pipe..... so hopefully that will increase. I'm thinking of an unvented direct cylinder - just not sure it'll give me the kind of shower I...

    Power showers

I have a combi boiler at my gaff..... and its perfectly adequate..... single bathroom etc. However, I'm building an extension with an en suite and want a much more powerful shower...... preferably a pumped shower. I assume i'd need a hot water cylinder - a cold feed up to it and a power...

Bends in vertical running waste pipe

I wonder if a triple socket onto that vertical pipe, with a rodding eye point above it would get passed the BCO..... like this.....

Bends in vertical running waste pipe

Would one of these Marley Bottom Outlet Chambers do the trick....

Bends in vertical running waste pipe

The orange line shows the proposed run from the corner access chamber. Just wondering how i'd connect this to that vertical pipe..... the BCO said it would need another i/c, but not sure how he means...... how would I connect the outlet of an i/c to a vertical pipe..... The footing is for...

Bends in vertical running waste pipe

Where that arrow points, is the exposed brickwork of manhole ..... its about 1.5 meters away from that pipe- perpendicular to the rear proposed run. The thick pink line shows the run of that pipe into the manhole.

Bends in vertical running waste pipe

Its about 700 mm vertically to the bottom from where it sits now..... but the top is currently sitting about 1000mm below the outside finished floor height. At the bottom it had a swept bend straight into a manhole

Bends in vertical running waste pipe

So, I've come up with this so far..... im just not sure what I'll do to connect the pipe running along the rear wall into the vertical sewer pipe. The BCO said it'll need another i/c in that location...... is it just a case a vertical to horizontal 90 degree connection from the exit of the...

Bends in vertical running waste pipe

Thanks Hugh..... thats great. Would i not get to the back corner, turn it 90 degrees so its running towards that sewer pipe then just connect onto it with a 90 degree elbow on top of that pipe that's sticking up out of floor. I'll use the other connection to connect a downstairs loo. If I...

Bends in vertical running waste pipe

This is the connection on the back wall of the house..... as it is at the moment. You can't tell, but its at least 1 meter below and is now encased in concrete so can't be moved. The one near the blue pipe.... not the old clay one.

Bends in vertical running waste pipe

Kind of like this..... so you think using chamber at the corner will suffice? How does the vertical pipe enter at the base of the gable wall? Or will a rest bend there be sufficient into a chamber at the corner
