    Yes correct You also need to connect the earth for the switch cable too.

    I've had a roll of 2.5mm by them, that was the same! After a small bottom seeing moment, the rest went straight in the bin :!: I always check the first few inches of any of there rolls now :!:

    Yes it would definitely work! I have it for instances just like yours(amongst others) where some silly sausage has fitted something, in a way where access is very limited. By the way I do appreciate your grievance. Not a bad idea.

    In that case you will need to find the junction box, that the fitting and switch wires goto, and check the connections there. sorry holmes you where right, i must of missed a bit of the info there.

    At the ceiling fitting; Sleaved earth wire -> earth Black -> N Red -> S At the dimmer s/w Sleaved earth -> earth on face plate Red -> ~ Red -> L1 If that don't work swap the two reds over at the dimmer s/w

    Dodgy bulb! The wire inside the cap, connecting the contact to the filament, was too close to or touching the cap, hence short to earth.

    Can't say i've heard of a Dehavilland CD15OO, but if you've side-lined a hilti in favour of it, i'm guessing it's a good bit of kit. I've always used my hilti te-55, and never really had a problem, it takes a lot before the clutch kicks in on that. But I wouldn't think of using my te-16 to run...
