    Tyrolean - Poor quality job

Please listen, and listen carefully. The price sounds ridiculous, although I have not seen the semi. Get somebody who specialises in rendering. get three addresses of previous customers and give them a visit; knock on the door and ask if your guys really did it. As for the other guy, if he...

    Cross Batton a Ceiling

The method is sound. Hundreds, is a slight, if not massive exaggerations. I have done this on about 50 ceilings over my 20yrs. We used to renovate terraces, one after another, and this was quick, cheap and good - no sagging. Nick [removed]

    Cross Batton a Ceiling

You dont even need a drill for this method, just listen ... find the lowest perimeter point on your ceiling. The wall it adjoins, will be your starting point. measure the length of that wall + 8mm and cut the 3x2 (actually lock your tape measure to length then add 8mm). you will have to hammer...

    SBR Slurry

The SBR slurry, if done properly is excellent. I know... I used it all the time. If the render is flat, I combine both methods. The afforementioned method is a good one. Nick [removed]

I think he means 1.3m. Get 1 ton and 6 cement and see how you get on.

    help on ordering

Cement usually fills the voids in the sand in its mixed state. You have 30m x 13m high(jesus) = 390m2 x 0.032 (assume 16mm thick - 8mm x 2 coats but double up cause relative density of sand is about double). In fact ignore that, start with 5 ton 30 cement and see hoe you get on. Nick [removed]

    Cross Batton a Ceiling

Put false ceiling directly underneath the old using 3x2. You will only lose a couple of inches; it will only cost about £20 more; you wont have to drop the original; it will be ultra flat and the insulation property of two is better than one. It's easy, honest. Nick [removed]

    Moisture resistant Plasterboard - plastering

Never put PVA on any type of plasterboard. Moisture board and standard skim will do just fine. If the relative moisture content 1s prevalently above 80% you can seal the finished surface with SBR. Nick

    22mm Thermaline to a ceiling ????

A vapour barrier is only necessary when you fixing insulation to flat roofs or to ceiling where the lofts space above has poor or no ventilation. Both of these scenarios will cause interstitial condensation. Nick

    New plasterboard ceiling question

No its not great. A 5m x 5m ceiling will cost £85 materials. A plasterer and a labourer will eat it in about 4 hours but probably charge you for 1 day which should be £200 tops. £285 supply and fix for cash. Nick

    Tools for Pebbledashing

Right, come on guys, this sounds like a conspiracy now!
