Vent Axia Extractor Fan not working - "twitching"

I researched volt indicators before I bought it a few months ago and it's worked fine. I've looked online just now to see about their accuracy and can't find anything. Can you share some details on why they are unreliable? Thanks

Vent Axia Extractor Fan not working - "twitching"

Actually on https://www.eevblog.com/forum/repai...repair-ventaxia-vasft100-pulses-or-runs-slow/ it says to replace the 220uf 16V capacitor but the image looks distinctly like 220 uf 10V Obviously I should be able to see it when I take it off, but what is the difference?

Vent Axia Extractor Fan not working - "twitching"

Having looked into it a bit more, and the cost of the capacitor, it does seem doable. Am I missing anything from my checklist? Isolate circuit (should be on lights) Confirm no supply using this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009K2E5MI Remove fan from ceiling entirely, marking any cables...

Vent Axia Extractor Fan not working - "twitching"

I'm work in computers and have done soldering in the past to replace batteries on electric toothbrushes, but I draw the line well before it gets to 230V! A new VentAxia fan will be about £50 and I have an electrician due to come in 2 weeks to do some other work, so will get him to sort. Nope...

Vent Axia Extractor Fan not working - "twitching"

Hi, I can't think of another word, but my Vent Axia VASF100T stopped working about a week ago. When I take off the fan cover to show the fan blades with the isolation switch on, the blades are what can best be described as twitching. They are rotating maybe 2mm ever second or so, but never...

Bristan tap cartidges failing after 1 year

Apologies for the delay in coming back on this. The first set of cartridges which Bristan sent arrived, but the envelope was open so they must have fallen out in the post. I call them back and they sent another set next day delivery (in a huge box!). I Took apart the tap and gave it a clean...

Bristan tap cartidges failing after 1 year

Hi, I have a Bristan EasyFit Echo Sink mixer in our utility room: https://www.bristan.com/products/Kitchen-Taps?code=EC%20SNK%20EF%20C It was first installed about 4 years ago and only 12 months ago my plumber swapped the cartridges having got them free under the warranty because it was...

Swap main switch for RCBO for loft

Yep, as predicted the "DB2" switch on the main board kills everything in the loft. So there's no need to swap a loft switch for an RCBO. Thanks for all the help!

Swap main switch for RCBO for loft

I do somewhere but will have to dig them out. I've just checked now on the NICEIC website: http://www.checkmynotification.com/ and can see the two pieces of work listed so I'm confident they were done to regs. Let me try that later tonight as the computer I'm on is in the loft. I'll report...

Swap main switch for RCBO for loft

I'm afraid I can't - but the loft board will be fed from the main board. Quoting the electrician directly: "the RCBO will just replace the existing trip switch for the loft sockets" as I said there is no space on either board for anything else.

Swap main switch for RCBO for loft

Hi, In 2016 we had our loft converted and have 2 rooms and a bathroom up there. In total we have 9 double sockets, 4 spot lights, 1 shaving socket and 2 pendants lights. The ground and first floor were renovated in 2013 and had new electrics put in then also. As the existing consumer board was...

Fixing shade sail to house wall - which screws?

So is the outer leaf of the cavity done in small bricks? Yes, it is. Does that give me out of a tricky situation? The wall I am fixing into is about 5.5m wide with 0.5m of wall on one side and 1.5m on the other with ~3m bifolding doors in the middle. When we were refurbishing the house we had...

Fixing shade sail to house wall - which screws?

Can you suggest an alternative solution please? The resin fixing I'm looking at stays it can be used in aerated concrete: http://www.fischer.co.uk/Home/tabid-1429/tabid-1434.aspx/cpage-details/pcategory-1001076958/usetemplate-productdetails/ so it should be sufficient. Wouldn't 100mm of anchor...

Fixing shade sail to house wall - which screws?

So having done some research, I think the following fixings should be sufficient. If someone can confirm, that would be great as I am hoping to install it all this weekend. 10mm eye bolt: https://www.s3i.co.uk/M10-Commercial-Eye-Bolt-100mm.html Fischer resin fixing...

Fixing shade sail to house wall - which screws?

Thank you for the prompt reply. The wooden posts specified are: "A wooden post at least 100mm diameter set in the ground (available here)." Would a larger pad eye be better? Maybe this one: https://www.s3i.co.uk/10mm-Square-Pad-Eye.html I actually found the details of what my builder...

Fixing shade sail to house wall - which screws?

Hi, I need to attach 2 X 3cm x 3.5cm Stainless Steel Pad Eye to the concrete wall at the back of my house to attach a rectangular shade sail The company where I bought the shade sail have a decent installation guide here but dont specify how you should fix the pad eyes to the house. The wall...
