    Which Paint for Exterior Windows

Joe has given you the best advice you'll ever get for your requirements here. It's an absolute dream to use - self undercoating - nice and thick - not ****y like other glosses so don't confuse it with them. Best paint on the market. Report back when you've used it. You owe him...

    Problem painting a garage door

I sit corrected. Can't stand Hammerite and don't like the sound of this stuff either. Myself, when I do a "sound" metal garage door same/ish colour, I wash/ abrade lightly , touch up and apply a good coat of Crown Solo gloss as it's self undercoating .

    Blending undercoat with eggshell

He might have done it because there was/is more undercoat than eggshell so he mixed it so's not to be short on eggshell. Shouldn't make the slightest difference to the top coat.

    Blending undercoat with eggshell

Don't get it. Can't see any reason for doing it as there's no gain. They didn't even buy the paint so it's not like they're trying it on with cheaper stuff, so what's the drama over it as long as it's finished in the eggshell and not the mix. Job's not finished.

    Forgot about knotting solution...

Lightly rub down with 400 wet/dry sandpaper. Buy a small tin of Zinsser bin, touch up over your knots with the bin and if they're severe, give them another, gently "feathering" them out to the edges then apply a coat of Crown solo gloss, over the top.
