    Bubbles, wallpapering drying and dehumidifiers

I'm an early starter so, depending on the paper, by the time I got home I'd probably just catch the end of Loose Women. ITV1 that is, not 2. And............. When papering over silk, it's best to line first. Failing that, I'd make sure that where each join was going to be, that I'd rub it...

    Garage flat roof.

Hi guys. I've felted my garage roof and painted it with Aluminium Solar protector and I'm wondering if I should paint the inside joists and boards to stop it getting dampish. What do you reckon and is there something that should be used in this instance? Thanks.

Tile paint/primer - is inecessary or will ordinary paint do?

Last time I painted tiles, I used Wickes tile primer followed by Crown Solo Satin, applied with a small sponge roller. If I wanted it glossed, I'd use Crown Solo Gloss over the tile primer as it's also self undercoating.

    Black gloss over Woodstain

Your dark grey undercoat is perfectly acceptable over Ronseal. I can't see any need for a primer and certainly not Zinsser Bin which is only an exteror spot primer anyway.

    lining paper - wider widths?

Not sure I made myself clear either. So, If you're frieze was 3 widths (large frieze) you would put 3 lengths on. It's lining paper. That's what you do with lining paper or wallpaper :!: If under the frieze, you wanted to do it with lining paper and there were 5 widths, you wouldn't be...

    lining paper - wider widths?

You're going to go to a lot of trouble to save a join  Just measure the width, halve it, paste both edges, cut it and splice it on the wall. Or adjust accordingly. It's normal to put one piece of lining up to the next.

PVA as a Primer on Wallpaper

First - Choose the emulsion you want. Second - Apply some on a smallish section of your wallpaper. Third- If your paper looks good when it's dried, carry on painting. Fourth - If it doesn't, Dec will walk you through that scenario if/when it happens.

Why is there no definitive answer to the question.....

Let's say you have a wall that's 17'6" long. and 7'6" high, It would take 4 lengths to line horizontally and 10 lengths to line vertically. So I'll take the 4 lengths. It's also easier. Let's say you have a wall at the side of a window or chimney breast, that's 7'6" high x 20" wide, it would...

Cracks along joins of painted lining paper

Did any of you with cracks along the seams, first sponge over to wipe any paste residue off :?: You should always sponge along the seam when papering, or if you emulsion it, you'll just be emulsioning over paste and emulsioning over paste causes....

Did somebody mention Crown Solo self undercoating gloss then? The gloss that you can use if your existing paintwork is in good condition, using warm water and a squirt of detergent, then lightly sanding with 400 grit wet, wiping clean and allowing to dry and giving it one coat of Crown Solo...
