Lining Paper Woes...cant fill the gaps!!!

No point whatsoever in leaving gaps in lining paper, anaglypta, supaglypta, blown vinyl, or any other paper. In fact it's a hindrance. A good decorator would never leave gaps and fill them at a later stage, regardless of who taught them to do so.

    Exterior Paint problem

Well done billm This is very technical.... ;) Whenever I look at a masonry job, I always lick a good bit of spit onto my finger, then dab it onto the wall and watch how quickly the paint sucks it dry. This will tell you how chalky or powdery it is. For the easily frightened among us...

    Exterior Paint problem

billm This is from Dulux - Stabilising primer is a solvent - based primer specially formulated to seal unstable areas which remain powdery and chalky after the surface has been thoroughly prepared for painting with masonry paint. It should not be used as a general purpose sealer on normal or...

    Exterior Paint problem

Well lads. I stand by everything I previously said, and, not only was the paint coming off, nothing to do with stabiliser, but if stabiliser, had've been used correctly in the first place, this problem wouldn't be here.

    Exterior Paint problem

The surface is sucking the life out of any paint so.. Scrape it. Sandpaper it. Dust it off. Apply this first.. http://www.johnstonestrade.com/product-range/product.aspx?product=Stabilising_Solution then, go with a masonry finish, preferably a pliolite but smooth Johnstone's masonry...

    LG mobile prob

If you're still around opps. Got a new sim and it didn't stop the problem. I've been bombarded with these messages every day. Took the phone into a local good mobile/repair shop and they'd never seen it before and I asked them to unlock it...they said it still wouldn't work and they were...

    Dulux Supermatt from B&Q

Of course Dulux Trade supermatt is the same stuff in B&Q as DDC's. Nearly all paint is cheaper than at the so called Trade merchant as they're far too expensive. Be very careful about the type of Crown you use to mist coat your plaster with. Read the back of the tub first to see if it's...

Painting an entire 3 bed semi

If you've got any white overalls, put them on and go to a Dulux decorating centre and say that you're "Trade cash". Gliddens contract emulsion is excellent paint for your new plaster. Your colours are limited but a thing I do is buy magnolia and Brill white and mix them together as I find Mag...

    LG mobile prob

Right. The guy in the shop messed about with the phone for about a half hour and said it's the sim that's faulty and not the phone and that he'd never seen so many messages come through. I told him it was alright in my last phone but, I don't think he was listening. Contacted Virgin and...

    LG mobile prob

opps. I got a friend to try his t-mobile card in it and it worked o.k. Then he tried to put another sim in ( 02 i think) and it wouldn't work so he said that the phone had not been unlocked and that's what it looks like to me as well so, please don't waste any time on me trying to figure it...

Jeeeeeeeeez opps ! I'm a decorator, I can't follow that. Don't know what it means. I don't know whether you want me to search on the internet or do some settings in the phone. I've gone into settings/ connectivity then network settings then preferred lists and at the top it says Add...

    LG mobile prob

Thanks opps, you're correct about it being a T-mobile and it's now on Virgin. I contacted Virgin and they asked me was the sim o.k in another phone, to which I said yes, so he said it must be the phone then. I'll have a look for the T-mobile forum and see what happens.
