    Gas Flue Issue

yeah, it's white and has a 90 elbow on the end of it, there's also a huge metal white square plate that goes over it, i hated the Baxi flue system, it seemed to be made of unobtainium as it was so tough to cut through!

    Gas Flue Issue

that fence panel to the left of the flue, is that the boundry between you and your neighbour? if so the flue should be 300mm away from it, by the looks of that picture i think you don't have that. from an internal corner on the Baxis you need 25mm, which you seem to have, to fit a plume kit on...

Pipe from ECV to gas meter

who turns up to fit the meter nowadays? is it someone from transco, or just some bod who only has ever fitted meters and done the purge and re light fresh out of college? the reason i ask is that if it's the transco dude, you could bung him a few quid and he might be able to raise the height of...

    Flue Clearance from roof

you could also extend the flue internally too, for example a 90 bend on top of the boiler pointing left or right, then a short extension, then another 90 pointing out through the wall, doesn't look pretty but it might help

    Flue Clearance from roof

if that window doesn't open then you only need to be 150mm away from it, if it does then you need to be 300mm away, as mentioned above you take the measurement from where the opening actually is not the end of the brick work, so you might be able to squeeze in an extra 50mm or so. you can fit a...

    Copper cylinder erosion

when i used to work in London the immersion heaters we used to fit had a sacrificial anode, but i wasn't part of the cylinder it was part of the immersion. it could just be poor manufacturing, might have been the last one built on a friday before a bank holiday weekend, if you know what i mean

    Hilmor pipe benders?

just got one left, the one that i put on the floor (too weak nowaydays to bend 22mm without having one leg down) the other is wrapped in electrical tape! no, new guides, they've either been lost or dropped too many times, that familiar 'ping' when they hit the deck :D

    Boiler Flue Size

yeah, find out from the boiler manufacturer what is allowed, some might allow it others not, have any of your neighbours had a new boiler recently? you can tell by looking at the flue if it's different to yours, maybe knock on their door and see what they got (or post a picture on here as most...

    Replace micro-bore with 15mm?

as long as the system is clean, inhibited, and balanced correctly ive found microbore systems are fine, the main problem i find is that when they were installed the pipes were kinked and eventually get blocked, that and conservatory fitters tee off the 8mm for a giant rad they've installed which...

Condensate pipe into a soak-away drain

the rain water that comes in from the gutter above will dilute what little condensate water there is anyway, so don't worry
