Alternative MCB to M6 Type 1 (MEM)

Thanks for replying. I think its the mechanical side that bothers me. I'd assumed the rail fitting was the same and its just the different, improved, ratings on the newer Type B Interested buy the last comment and its not ideal to mix and match types or even makes MCBs but is it actually...

Alternative MCB to M6 Type 1 (MEM)

I need to replace a M6 Type 1 MCB, 16A, as the current one has gone over sensitive. Are there modern alternatives that replace it or does it mean a whole new, expensive, consumer box ?

    Decent Mid Price Jigsaw

Thats the one  Awful tool and struggles with even simple jobs. Weak motor and even weaker mechanics....especially that knob. Its a few years old , to say the least. Only ever used it on Laminate flooring which it just about coped with. It was a revelation to use the 750 W performance...

    Decent Mid Price Jigsaw

I think B&Q Performance Power tools were either Makita or Ryobi made so it wouldn't surprise me if Wickes were the same. The one I used was the 750w Performance and it allowed a much more controlled slow cut as it was pretty quick in cutting. I'm not snobbish about this and nor should I be of...

    Decent Mid Price Jigsaw

True.... but the door edge was so badly cut originally and the, straight, marked cut line I made the edge of the door look like a wavy line. Very thin in places and wide in others and not square to add to the problems so a circular saw was just totally impractical. Guy must have been pi**ed when...

    Decent Mid Price Jigsaw

I agree. Always worth paying a bit more. Even when on a budget I try and get the top model in a range. This time it is unlikely to be used very much with intermittent bursts of use. So the low to mid range Makita or even the 750w Mac Allister which at £50 is a well made jigsaw for a decent...

    Decent Mid Price Jigsaw

I can see that as most sites use 110v tools so if its good enough for a tradesman............ :)

    Decent Mid Price Jigsaw

Thanks Sammy I was looking at the Bosch PST 700 E as I like Bosch tools. But I will check out the Makita cordless.

    Decent Mid Price Jigsaw

Just used a Performance 750W jigsaw at a friends and I was very impressed by how solid it was and the variable speed and pendulum feature. It cut beautifully and took the bottom off a wooden door so I could plane the final bit. I would point out that someone had butchered the door previously...

    Identify Door Handle Please

I need to replace the door handles on my uvpc door but can't find any with the latch knob on. Screw distance is 215 mm and can I replace with a standard set of handles and forget about the little latch knob thingy above the handle ? Any help appreciated

Plumber wants to cut the back ceramic pipe of toilet

I would have said him.... unless he says the risk is yours and you accept it. Not taking sides but make sure both sides clearly understand any risks and consequences. And line up a potentially new toilet :)

    Are Diesel Sales Doomed ?

Its not just a con its a pocket lining exercise for the Quango lovers. Its shameful and based on half truths and panic.

    Are Diesel Sales Doomed ?

I work for a company that has a large sister operation in Germany and whilst there is a move there for non diesel after years of doing the opposite. Its nowhere near as frantic. Partly due to the power of BMW and VW I suspect but, and this is very anecdotal, people don't seem inclined to fiddle...

    Are Diesel Sales Doomed ?

And the woodburning stoves as well. I think there is an established culture of misplaced hand wringing and dodgy facts being banded around by politicians and environmental pressure groups from both sides. Its clear that man is a major polluter... by the sheer fact there are billions of us all...

    Are Diesel Sales Doomed ?

You call this hysteria? John, I respect your passion about this but I was referring to the Transport Ministers unqualified comment "buy a diesel at your peril" in reference to the damage it appears to have done to diesel car sales. As generating an "hysteria" in the public rather than have a...

    Are Diesel Sales Doomed ?

So, anyway..... back to the question. Looking at the prices dropping in a number of cars for diesel it's either the right time now to buy one or wait a bit longer. It's like the stock market, its all in the timing and luck. But I can say that if anyone is after a diesel Mini there are a lot...
