Advice on new gas installation and CH

Vaillant ecomax 828/2e hot water problem

I don't suppose it occurs to you that Vaillant won't have to buy their parts at anything like the ridiculously inflated prices they sell them to the trade for.

    Potterton Proforma 28 Gas valve

There is no friend, gas valve or Potterton 28. Just DrDrivel, WaterSystems BigBurner, etc etc on another wind up.

Woodburner - cold chimney blows smoke back into room?

Make sure you've adequate ventilation. If so and it's still a problem, try opening window/doors to outside on lighting.

    vailliant vcw240gbh

The 240 is conventional (open) flue and will kill you if allowed to burn with a sooted heat exchanger. Assuming this isn't a wind up.

How to increase oil boiler power output?

None of that has anything to do with what's meant by oil pressure. It requires adjustment of the burner (and possibly changes to adjustable baffles if applicable) and re-commissioning using the correct instruments.

    Vented or unvented?

I would look for over 2 bar dynamic and 18l/min as an absolute minimum. Generally over 3 bar and over 20l/min with a 25mm inlet from the street before I can sell it with confidence. I'd refuse the job based on your figures even if you wanted to chance it. Best stick with stored, you can get...

Boiler advice and acceptable Q's to ask the boiler installer

Why don't you look at the title of your post again and at the replies from others that are the same or agree with mine. Don't blame me because you come across as a pointless punter. Like I said try your methods out on the trade. That's what YOU posted to ask opinion for.

Boiler advice and acceptable Q's to ask the boiler installer

You chose the question about approaching people in the trade, but don't take my reply. Phone some installers (even British Gas & the like), tell them you begrudgingly might spend some money with them. Then mention you're on a tight budget so have an idea to reuse the old flue and supply your own...

Boiler advice and acceptable Q's to ask the boiler installer

OP- You can ask whatever to whoever you like. If I were approached with phrases such as 'having a new kitchen', 'begrudgingly', 'reuse existing flue', 'buy boiler myself' etc... My advice would be the same. If you don't want to buy, don't buy.

Boiler advice and acceptable Q's to ask the boiler installer

You can't use any part of the existing flue. If your budget is so tight as to make you consider dangerous bodge methods, then you're best advised not to change anything.

    HRM Wallstar won't ignite

The pellets in bulk dry storage are even known to give off carbon monoxide. There may be special considerations for store rooms on top of just damp proofing. Then there's the volatiles/particles given off when burning. As a manufactured product, distributed by road and often imported, the...

    HRM Wallstar won't ignite

At just over 4p per kW, oil is much cheaper than pellets at 6 to 7p per kW. Wood pellet and wood chip boilers in their current development stage are no use for individual domestic properties. For communal or commercial projects, they are an option worth considering.
