    Audi A5 Coupe 2015 2.0 Diesel

As you have VCDS can you run a live log (While a 2nd person drives the car) choose "boost requested" and "boost actual" among the criteria to log. If the turbo has been replaced but is failing to boost this will show how much by. It is possible that the garage may not have changed the turbo...

Keeping the house cool, ideas please.

That's the biggest part of the problem..... For every cubic metre of hot "exhaust air", the same amount of outside temperature air will be drawn in from outside. Portable AC units do have a place but they are not even in the same ball park as a fixed unit that only passes freon from inside to...

Is it worth repairing a fridge freezer?

Have you checked/been able to pull the fridge out? It could be as simple as a condenser covered in fluff and dust. I had an American style fridge that had a fan cooled condenser and that used to get all fluffed up every six months or so.

permanently flooring over indoor swimming pool advice please?

I'd check on the water table, my mates house is on a hill and still gets a high water table a few times a year. The water table often stays roughly the same distance from the surface even on a hill.

permanently flooring over indoor swimming pool advice please?

I'd at least fill it with ballast of some sort, a friend of mine built an outdoor pool but left it empty until he got the cash together for tiles and a tiler. In the winter the centre started to dome upwards and the entire thing started lifting by a few mm a day. He believed it was effectively a...

Getting a cheap set of wheels for winter tyres...

This is a good site for comparing rolling diameters of wheel/tyre combinations, it even tells speedo difference https://tiresize.com/comparison/ The other thing worth remembering if your car is a high powered one is that the brakes make require a minimum rim diameter to be able to fit smaller...

    caravan repair

I love having the caravan but the wife does not, she is strictly a hotel person! It's proved it's worth though, we lived in it for 18 months and we are about to go on our 4th holiday in it, really just off the back of Covid. Good luck getting yours all back together, I hated doing the windows...

    caravan repair

I bought a caravan, rather sharpish as it turned out, when the builders had rendered my house un-inhabitable, before expected. I knew nothing about caravans so just picked the largest, cheapest one I could find. The thing was rotten at the front but didn't leak....until I poked the wall board...

    Another Wren Kitchen Question

Did Wren provide a 3d, 360 degree view for your phone so you can stand there and look at it, move it around? If there is a decorative panel (slab) that goes full height, I doubt you would need to add anything else or you would have a really thick looking bunch of "slabs"?

What are the signs of a hacked mobile phone? Scary story this one!

I'm slightly prone to bad dreams and on the odd occasion, I have told the wife, in chapter and verse, about something that happened during the night. However, I almost always wake her up without knowing and she sees me, often eyes open, muttering all sorts. Quite often my dreams are based on...

    Flooring question, concrete screed insulation

If you do decide to use a Flow screed, you need to "make a tub" over the insulation out of thick polythene. If you don't do this, the liquid will flow underneath the insulation and the whole lot will float on top! If you have an existing concrete slab you would need to add a thin layer of soft...

    Budget car tyres

Could I just throw my old school thoughts into the post ref your control arms and the amount you get through? I would be so bold as to question the way they have been fitted, any rubber suspension component, such as a bushes that are subject to a twisting force, should not have their retaining...

    Flooring question, concrete screed insulation

50 mm would be plenty thick enough for an Anhydrite (liquid) screed, you would just need to sand the latency off once cured and use an Adhesive such as Anhyfix if tiling.

    Conservatives get massive boost

My concern is that the UK would end up like it is in The U.S. People seem to hate each other just because they "vote for the other side". I find myself actually stating "no Brexit or politics" on the rare occasion we have a social gathering, just to avoid the huge arguments it causes! Trouble...

    Conservatives get massive boost

Thank you for rather a sensible post, I actually mean that, I'm at work and it all gets a bit much when I am alienated from pretty much all camps because of my Brexit choice and my refusal to applaud the conservatives for everything they do. Gets a bit lonely sitting on a fence!
