New DIY idea.... your feedback needed!

I agree that plasterboard has it's limitations, but in a couple of pull out tests I did with it, it pulled the plasterboard off of the studs, yet the fixing was still attached, wonder how many others can do that. Horizontal fixing could be an improved way, but it's already high when fixed...

Also if your concerned about the slot above the fixing, you could put the fixing in horizontal, I have even put two fixings in the same slot in opposite directions, do you not think that would be stronger?

Contact me through the website www.bladefixing.co.uk. if you want to have a try. It will be fully tested when it comes to market, and I'm confident that it will out perform rivals, as far as grip it goes they claim 180kg yet only say safe weight 50kg shear load, and then say 30kg on pull out...

Drilling a hole is weakening the board, my slot is smaller than most holes required for other fixings. The pull out load is better than others, all fixings state the highest load capable so I'm following their lead. As I said a few on here are very negative hopefully when it comes to market you...

The slot doesn't have to be angled, when the fixing goes in it angles the slot. The reason I said about the kitchen knife is to show you that you don't need anything special to fix these things, also have you seen the size of the hole needed for some fixings, I'm just pointing out that it's less...

Here's a little clip of one fixing in action http://goo.gl/IHYMxU Guys, I'm not trying to replace the stud as the best fixing point, I'd never do that, what I'm trying to do is give users an alternative to their normal plasterboard fixings, that is stronger, more versatile, easier to use and...

You would cut a slot with.. A knife, a flat head screwdriver, a bread knife, a plasterboard saw, a little cutting device I have come up with. Thing is, it's plasterboard so wouldn't take a lot of effort, I could also produce a special punch, with some other fixings you need a drill bit exactly...

If you hit a dab you could use a normal plug, or you would only use the first couple of screw holes, I could always supply different sizes and width bladefixings in each pack. This works in every thickness of board, even double boarded walls. Feedback is great guys, if you get a chance and you...

That's the beauty of it, the bladefixing can be made in any size or design, with as many screw holes as you want, you can even drill your own holes. Look at how much metal is spread behind the board, making it carry large amounts of weight, the hook was just an example, I have one design...

Hi Guys, I'm a plasterer by day, and a part time inventor at night. They say stick to what you know so I have invented a brand new plasterboard fixing, that I think out does anything else on the market currently. It's patent pending, but would love to hear what you all think, you can see it in...

    Gripit Fixings

Has anyone seen how fiddly these things are to use, need the exact size drill bit, and setting gauge, someone needs to come up with a heavy duty fixing that does not require loads of tools to fit it?
