Is my bag of bonding useless??

Hi all, need some help. I'm attempting my first plastering job where i've bricked up an internal doorway and chased out for some electrics. I bought a bag of bonding just over a week ago and its been stored in the shed (which is insulated!!) off of the floor. I came to mix some up by hand...

New Wiring for separate Hob & Double Oven

I'm sure i've read that some radial circuits for showers use 50A MCB's with 10mm cable, if this is correct I don't understand why this could be dangerous for other high wattage appliances?

New Wiring for separate Hob & Double Oven

Sorry if i'm being daft, but can you explain how upping the MCB to 50A would/could be dangerous? On another point my current cooker has max of 10.7kw (46A?) and doesn't trip the 40A MCB even on Xmas day!!

New Wiring for separate Hob & Double Oven

Cable is run straight through joist with no insulation. Slightly illogical with the way i'm doing things, but my missus is the one who wears the trousers and our bedroom was a wreck and kitchen ceiling skimmed last week as didn't think i was going to run into any probs with the cooker circuit.

New Wiring for separate Hob & Double Oven

Putting a separate circuit in isn't an option now as bedroom upstairs has new floorbaords / skirting / carpet etc. and kitchen ceiling just been skimmed. The Oven/Hob i was looking at (not ordered yet was 12.5kw), what i'm saying is, if i put a 50amp MCB in I can then run a hob and oven off the...

New Wiring for separate Hob & Double Oven

Thanks ColJack. Can you point me in the direction of a double CCU, I can only find singles! With the MCB assume this can be changed from 40 to 50 Amp? If so i can run both the oven and hob off the circuit providing the total wattage doesn't exceed 11.5kw. With regards replacing with 6mm...
