Miele combi steam oven stops pumping to condensate tray

@jj4091 I will get a multimeter and check. I can see the wiring are connected properly though. I have watched it going through the a circle, it doesn't appear to be doing anything. Condensate does not get pumped up to the tank. It's also very likely the pump itself is blocked due to food debris...

Miele combi steam oven stops pumping to condensate tray

@jj4091 By the way, the user guide above is for the standard 5080, my one is a 5080XL, it has different condensate tray design. If you are interested, you can see here

Miele combi steam oven stops pumping to condensate tray

@jj4091 That's the one! Thank you. I can ignore the message, and the oven still runs, however condensate will just accumulate on the bottom of the oven, without getting pumped into the condensate tray. Its messy to clean up that way. What do you mean by if "it is getting a supply to it to...

Miele combi steam oven stops pumping to condensate tray

And there is no error code, just warning message "Empty the condensate tray". I guess there is a sensor near the pump that detect this, but the water is in the pump container itself, not on the condensate tray. The tray is empty.

Miele combi steam oven stops pumping to condensate tray

Of course. The model number is DGC5080XL, so it is a combi steam oven. Here is a photo of the pump. Or could this be due to incorrect wiring?

Miele combi steam oven stops pumping to condensate tray

Hello everyone, My neighbour wants to give me his Miele combi steam oven if I can repair it. I have figured out the issue, which is the condensate pump has stopped working for some reason. So at the moment the condensate tray is empty, and condensate water builds up at the bottom of the oven...

What do I need to hang this lamp shade?

Thank you. That will work. However as the shade is not too heavy (less than 1.5kg), I'm thinking of doing away with chain, as the cable is supposed to be able to support that. I do need something that can grip the cable, instead of putting weight on the wiring inside the lamp holder though. Any...

What do I need to hang this lamp shade?

Hi everyone, So I got this large industrial type pendant shade from a vintage shop and really want hang it up in the kitchen. However it has no support chain, so I'm looking for a cord/cable grip or a lamp holder that can screw into the top of the shade. The internal diameter is 20mm however...

What sort of pipe connection is this?

@SandyLyon @Stivino Thanks guys, you guys are brilliant. Just one question, why do we need the pushing couple (yellow)? Can't the pushfit tap connector (grey) connect directly onto the pipe?

What sort of pipe connection is this?

Hi everyone, I'm trying to replace the sink in my bathroom and came across this pipe connection, see photo. What sort of connection is this? I'm trying to replace the flexible hose with a longer one, but have only found the type with nuts at both ends. Where could I get flexi-hoses with these...

Leaking/Penetrating water from gutter valley & parapet wall

Hi, I have spotted some damp spots in our bathroom. This is on a party wall with no pipe this side, so I figure this is penetrating water through the brickwork from the parapet above. And indeed, on inspection I can see some damage on the gutter valley and cracking mortar on the parapet. 1...

Penetrating damp from party parapet wall

Hi everyone, We have spotted some damp spots in our bathroom. This is on a party wall with no pipe this side, so I figure this is penetrating damp downwards from the parapet above. And indeed, on inspection I can see some damage on the gutter valley and cracking mortar. 1. Please have a look...

Retrofit double glazing onto old single glazed sash windows

My windows are about 5cm/2 inch thick, and I think I can fit 18-20mm double glaze glass in. I'm not sure how much it will improve the thermal and acoustic performance to make it worth doing though.

Retrofit double glazing onto old single glazed sash windows

I did consider it. I know it works great however it just doesn't look great. I just came across this magnetic type that is kind of removable during the summer months, that might work better than the permanent aluminium box type. What do you think?

Retrofit double glazing onto old single glazed sash windows

Thank you everyone, sorry I haven't been on for a few days. I can imagine how it's done now. The toughest bit I guess is routing the frame accurately to allow the double glaze glass to sit snugly. And then make sure it's completely draught proof. There are some movement between the windows and...

Moving from traditional boiler to combi, do you leave the pipeworks in the loft?

Hey, I happen to be a dentist. (Only joking) Let's close this discussion. While I'm grateful you guys give your free time for strangers like me online, it's hard to have a discussion if you don't care what I say. One, I said I would not want this topic to be about combi vs system/traditional...

Moving from traditional boiler to combi, do you leave the pipeworks in the loft?

Sorry I meant hot/cold water pipes. Yes the pipes to radiators are under the floor. Flow and return between boiler and cylinder also over the loft. I have the inverted boiler type with pipes going upwards.

Retrofit double glazing onto old single glazed sash windows

Oh I understand. Thank you I will look into this. I know that this can be done, just wondering whether I can DIY it.

Retrofit double glazing onto old single glazed sash windows

It's hard to see from the photo, but if you look carefully, my window has glass panels on both side (the inside panel added on later on by previously, mimicking double glazing) and the gap between them is about 18-20mm. Is that good?
