    Low pressure at shower

So basically, apart from ripping out tiles and the wall in the bathroom where the shower is, and re-routing the pipes, Id be better getting a pump fitted?

    Low pressure at shower

Not recently but I will do. Like I say, the pressure was poor before the new shower was fitted

    Low pressure at shower

Okay. The hot taps in the rest of the house all seem fine. Could it be anything to do with the fact that the pipe is routed up the way through the loft then down again? Ill have a look and check the pipes and valves.

    Low pressure at shower

Ill have to have another proper look but when I fitted the new bathroom, the water was even poor with no shower fitted, just pipes coming out the wall. When I turn shower fully cold its better, but when I switch it back to fully hot, the water barely comes out the shower head if I hold it upside...

    Low pressure at shower

Yeh theres a vent pipe but is that not just the same though, a pipe coming from the cylinder going up to the loft? The bathroom is almost directly below the water tank, and cant be moved up any higher. Its basically sitting on beams on top of the ceiling beams

    Low pressure at shower

There is no hot in the loft, Im in a bungalow. The only hot pipe going to loft is the one going to shower. Whoever fitted the cylinder must have done it that way. When I remove the shower heads (there is a normal one and a rainfall), the water flow is still poor

    Low pressure at shower

I know I will have to fit a pump, just thought there may be something I could do at the water cylinder end to maybe help. Plus, not sure where the pump would go. Probably in the airing cupboard, but just means pipes would be coming down from the loft to go back up again

    Yeh its not mains cold

    Low pressure at shower

Im not sure it is an airlock as its not quite trickling, or spluttering or nothing, its just really low pressure compared to the rest of the hot water in the house

Yeh could be. How could I cure it?

    Low pressure at shower

Yeh copper, 22mm. Its been that way as long as I know off. Its my grandads old house and his old shower was similarly poor. Was just wondering if there were maybe any valves or something in the airing cupboard that could maybe be not fully open.

    Low pressure at shower

Hi My shower has really low pressure, especially the hot. Its a gravity fed system and a thermostatic shower, fairly new. The pipes feeding the shower come from the loft. Cold comes from the tank, along and down the wall. The hot comes from the hot water cylinder, up into the loft, along and...

    New loft float valve

I thought of that but didnt think they would work. Would this be the same as whats in my toilet? What happens if the water level gets below the bottom of the valve, would it just be noisy like before until the water comes back up?

    New loft float valve

Just normal vibration as if the waters running. The noise stops when valve is fully open once water level is down a bit in the tank but starts again as its closing. Maybe a cheap valve?
  16. S

    New loft float valve

No, its like a high pitched noise as if the waters restricted as it only does it just as the valves about to close. The old valve never made a noise

    New loft float valve

So could I just change the cone inside?
  18. S

    New loft float valve

Yeh seems high. What if I change the nozzle on the inside to a bigger hole? Or just repair the old valve and put it back!!!

    New loft float valve

Okay so do I access that by unscrewing the front end of the valve? Its definitely causing some restriction as you can hear it right through the cold pipe in the airing cupboard, going up to the loft, & also at the actual stop cock at the inlet

    New loft float valve

Just been up to adjust tap. No joy, still makes a noise. Im wondering if its because before being a part 1 the water just flowed straight out, but now being a part 2, the nozzle is on top and its not just a hole but almost like a sieve so it could be restricting it making it noisy
