    it sounds as if you have created a second problem. I think that you may be looking at a new pump and most likely a new fan. The fan will need to be changed by a RGI as it forms part of the flueing system.

    Persist with the screw in the centre of the pump - it opens anti clockwise. Do this with the boiler off and until you get a small trickle of water out. When filling the system, vent the downstairs rads first. Steve
