    yes light 1 and 2 will be linked if they are on the same circuit. but the new cable would enable you to take a new switch line to the other light along with the feed,neutral and earth. putting the cables together in the switch would work however i do not see that as good practice. sorry i can...

    sorry me again i missed somthing out. please ensure that you remove the OLD switch line from light number 2 do not leave it connected.
