    They don't need to go round the s bend :roll: it's used for the same reason as a normal plunger to create pressure behind the blockage. But this way it seems to create a lot more pressure than a normal plunger.

    If you have a look at what came with your torbeck valve, you should see a white flow restrictor (the bottom one on this pic) There will be one inside the bottom already but it should come with another in the packet that has more threads on it ( high pressure restrictor ) put that one in...

    The water drips out there as it's the closest hole to the connection. If it only drips when you flush the toilet then it is the Donut Washer that's gone, If it drips all the time then the nut at the bottom of the cistern that holds the syphon down. You will find a selection of donuts...
