Wen you operate the stat does the receiver flash then turn green? If so can you hear it click wen it does?

Sounds like the receiver may be shot but before doing anything try this. Turn the power off at the spur and remove batteries from the stat. Switch power back on, then press both buttons on the receiver, should flash red then stay illuminated. Let go and put the batteries back in the stat and...

haven't had much to do with solar so its a bit of a guess, but has it got a blending valve which is mixing ya hot water a little cooler than you would like? have ya got any pics of the sys?

id guess a blocked cold feed, sounds like ya pump is running but the water isn't circulating correctly.

it sounds like you could fit the combi in the airing cupboard where the cylinder is without making too much mess. you would have the hot/cold feeds and pipe-work for your central heating as they all would be used for your cylinder. you would need to get the gas supply in there but that could be...

is the airing cupboard on a outside facing wall? and where is the gas meter located?

what model boiler is it? eg vaillant turbomax??

if theres enough in the budget id also go for a unvented with a worcester ri boiler

prob be the valve itself that is passing, be easier to change the entire valve

if the vessel has gone and the prv is dripping i think the op would be having to top the pressure up, not let it out! :roll: sounds more like either the fill loop is passing or the heat exchanger has gone, stick with bg :wink:

id sort the sys pressure out 1st so that can be ruled out. on some vokera's the fill loop is on the cold mains valve (easy way to tell is if the valve has a black lever, turn it till it faces the opposite direction and see if it fills up) or take a pic of the underneath of the boiler and post it
