New Vaillant Boiler - no working pressure!!

Point taken Jordon, and presumably true aswell... I had an ISAR this week, piped in 15mm for over 20m... It literally went up and over this property, installed by EAGA Subbies. ----------------- I'd still say check it.

New Vaillant Boiler - no working pressure!!

One more thing.... WHAT ON EARTH IS YOUR HOB? Can you REALLY see 22mm going to the hob? REALLY!?

New Vaillant Boiler - no working pressure!!

Find somewhere convenient to get under the floor, and get on with it. Usually the front door has a nice trap door in/around it. Avoid under staircases, especially if a house is 1930's.... They tend to build a wall around it to support the weight, and you're essentially climbing into a box.

Can't control central heating on its own

I've just thought.... I know everybody has jumped on the Synchron wagon, but... It could be the valve itself needs replacing? I wonder if the innards have caused the Synchrons to continuously give up? If your on a back boiler, there's a good chance you've got an 'old system' and...

New Vaillant Boiler - no working pressure!!

That's just it though.... You're being told by several qualified and experienced engineers, it is likely to be a fault with the gas pipework. If VAILLANT are telling you, then I'd be inclined to pay attention... It is, after all, their boiler. The fact that your hob works fine is...

wiring problem glow-worm 18 sxi help!!!!!!!

I've only skimmed, but I notice you say he has cut back the Orange and Grey wires to the valve? Well, I think that's your problem... You'll be getting a signal sent to the Valve, and it may well operate slightly, but it won't be doing anything other than open. The Grey will connect with...

New Vaillant Boiler - no working pressure!!

Size Matters. A lot of engineers I've come across have used whatever pipe size the entry to the boiler happens to be, for whatever run. It could be that they have used 15mm to supply your appliance, but the run (total length) of pipe leading up to the appliance is incorrectly sized...

    Speedfit for a power shower

I have a reason; A real plumber would never have a reason to use such a fitting. That's a statement from a 90 year old man who has thought in two world wars and had a career in the plumbing industry since the 50's. Push-Fit is for the untrained, unexperienced and unprepared amongst us.

Can't control central heating on its own

Insead of forking out for a Room Stat, link it out temporarily... Isolate the electrics, place a cable between the wiring in the Room Stat and away you go!

RATTLING METAL NOISE FROM CHIMNEY STACK

We've had heavy winds recently, and today especially. It's normal to hear things echoing down there, and in this weather, it could sound bad. It all depends on the noise really. I'd consider waiting until the weathers better, and if its still occuring, ask someone to have a look.

RATTLING METAL NOISE FROM CHIMNEY STACK

If you've not got a fear of heights, and have a set of ladders, you can do it yourself. Turn off your fire/whatever is connected to it, get up on the roof with a bucket of mixed sand&cement and a trowel... And re-cement around the flue, from the flue towards the edge of the breast, going...

Will a new PCB fix this?

Not always the case though, is it? The problem your experiencing sounds like basics to me, it's either not producing enough heat, or the said heat is not circulating. If the heat is not being produced, we need to investigate why. If the heat is being produced, but not circulating, then...

RATTLING METAL NOISE FROM CHIMNEY STACK

You could try praying for the >80mph winds to stop? TBH you could be right, it could be loose, the flaunching on top may need redoing. But it does sound like a typical flue liner in bad weather...

Will a new PCB fix this?

Save yourself some time before he comes again, and turn the heating on. Then, after an hour, walk round and feel the radiators. Feel the larger pipes under the boiler and see if they are hot. If they aren't hot, then turn off radiators one at a time, as stated. It could be all sorts...

outside gas meter has no box

You can buy a box for it online, sometimes in places like Screwfix, B&Q or Selco or even try National Grid/Transco... You're best keeping an eye out for the road workers, and people who reconnect to your house... Big van, usually dirty looking lads, reading the Daily Star... Slide them...

Will a new PCB fix this?

Have you checked some basics? such as your system pressure being correct, thermostats all turned up, radiators fully open etc. etc.? When you turn the CH on, do the two large pipes get as hot as you'd like your radiators? What appears to be the problem? Are you not warm enough, or do you...
