Its not rechargeable .I did unscrew those on the back but couldn't get into it so I tried unscrewing one on the side and that allowed me to replace three very ancient batteries.With the new AA batteries it's working and give off an incredible amount of light.Appeciate your help Guys.Thanks.

I have just acquired an old Defender Torch? Does anyone know how to access it to change the batteries? Appreciate your help.
