    Hot cylinder vent pipe

I need to replace my loft cold water cistern as the existing is inadequate to supply the hot cylinder and shower pump I am planning. Unfortunately I cannot readily remove the old cistern and replace it as the access is so restricted, so the new tank will ideally go a few feet away where there's...

    Loud Watermill bathroom pump!

Reading the spec sheet Watermill claim that model to be less than 70dB, which is still loud (equivalent to a vacuum cleaner I believe). I would imagine options for making it quieter are limited given that an enclosure would restrict the flow of cooling air, but the vibration should be curable...

    Shower Pump choice

The info on the high pitched hum on the CT model Salamanders comes from Salamander themselves, I've since learned. It applies to their NP range too. The 'Right' pump models are supposedly much quieter. I rang Stuart Turner and asked what their noise rating was. They said all their pumps are...

    Shower Pump choice

Some adverts for the Salamander CT50 state that it emits a high-pitched hum. Whether this is over and above their more expensive pumps I don't know but this, the low price, and the model name 'Contract' lead me to suspect it's to be avoided in noise-sensitive applications.

Mind if I ask why not Fitz? I installed two new rads in my lounge with polyplumb about 4 years ago. No problems since.

    Quietest shower pump?

I need a 2 bar twin pump for installation right next to a bedroom. What's the quietest make or model of pump out there? Stuart Turner quote <70 dB, but that means less than a washing machine on spin cycle, which doesn't impress me much. How's the Techflow QT80 for noise? Any others to look...

Newbie bathroom install - a few questions...

We're about to re-do our bathroom and in this world of push-fittings and flexible connector hoses I'm planning to do it myself. My plumbing experience consists of fitting two radiators in the lounge where previously there were none, and fitting TRVs to all the rads in the house. So not extensive...
