Yiiippppeeee it worked first go got all me rafters cut in about 3 hours, arm hurts but it looks dapper.

When you get the hob mike there should either be a template or at lease instructions, and in there it should provide you with the measurements to cut the required hole in the worktop.

I think ive worked it out now guys, gonna try it today on a bit of stock wood so i dont waste me 6x2. The end that connects to the bearing plate will be cut at 22 degrees, the birdsmouth will then have a 22 degree back cut and the other would be 68 degrees thus making the 90 degrees that the...

Got it sorted in the end thanks guys, turns out that anchor sleeves just dont like breeze blocks, put my bearing plate up yesterday using them on brickwork and bingo, bango, bongo worked first go.... :D

Hi Guys, What is the easiest way to create a birdsmouth for mounting on a wall plate or does anybody know of any good websites, been trying all afternoon and cant seem to get it right. Cheers Stan :twisted:

How do you use these anchor sleeves guys, I drilled my hole with the correct bit size, tapped the anchor bolt into the hole with its sleeve on then tightend, but it doesnt seem to get really tight what have i done wrong ???

Cheers for that Nose, but i have decided if a job is worth doing then lets do it right, gunna replace all the rafters, ceiling joists, wall plate and pitching plate, then reduce the pitch of the roof to 22.5 degrees :(

Ive got a cavity on the new wall Nose, and not on the existing old wall so theres a good chance that the inner leaf wont line up properly with old wall its connected to, when the side of the kitchen comes down.

No m8 i havnt filled it at all at the moment, but its only 250mm from my footings to the DPC so i guess i cant fill it any more.
