    what if the alarm panel is powered from that same lighting circuit from an fsu?( I know of alarm companys which take a spur off lighting circuits) :?:

    yes but not where I wanted it. bottom line is I shoud have put an earth cable in when I had the chance. did put this topic :cry: on the forum a few days ago but got no response, when I had time to route a cable.

    sorry you have lost me a bit here! :? I think I know what you mean ( I dont need to earth it because its already protected at the master socket) which begs the question why do they ask to earth the dialler :?:

    whats your thoughts on the earth of the light switch? its right beside it easy to connect and surely an earth is an earth they all terminate at the same place on the fuse board :roll: thanks for your input. while your there any chance I could borrow your ladder for half an hour or so :wink:

    whats a csa cable? could I earth it to the light switch beside the dialler as I now have no way to route a cable. walls now plastered and ceilings boarded :oops: oh I do have spare cores on alarm cable and phone cable.
