And it's definately not like wire. It's something more solid, like a heavy part is pushing against the drum.

So from what you're saying I should be able to fix it myself? If I do see anything, is it fairly easy to open the machine to move it? Is it in through the front panel, or side? Could you give me a rough idea on how to get to it? And thanks very much for the help, it would be amazing...
