Baumatic Washing Machine has gone wrong

Thankyou, Unfortunatley that site does not cover my area. Greenwich, London. Thanks for the heads up on repaircare and domex. I just rang Baumatic again and they say it could be that or the bearings gone. In either case it is not repairable. They don't fix anything to do with the drum...

Baumatic Washing Machine has gone wrong

OK thanks. Any idea if it's repairable? And if so how much the parts might cost? I just need a educated guess so I can decide which repair plan I should go for. I'm assuming I can't fix it with some gaffer tape :)

Baumatic Washing Machine has gone wrong

Hi again, I've just had another closer look at it. Here's a clearer description of fault and what I need to know: When you revolve the drum it rotates with a wobble, like it's axis has moved off centre. This causes it to rub against something when the furthest out part goes along the...

Baumatic Washing Machine has gone wrong

And it's definately not like wire. It's something more solid, like a heavy part is pushing against the drum.

Baumatic Washing Machine has gone wrong

So from what you're saying I should be able to fix it myself? If I do see anything, is it fairly easy to open the machine to move it? Is it in through the front panel, or side? Could you give me a rough idea on how to get to it? And thanks very much for the help, it would be amazing...

Baumatic Washing Machine has gone wrong

Hi tonto. Just read your post. When you turn it it feels normal until 1 point of the revolution where it scrapes 6 times against something. Thx for the reply.

Baumatic Washing Machine has gone wrong

So I guess it comes down to how much parts might cost and should I trust independent companies. Could anyone have a go at guessing part cost range for this fault? Or advise me on which deal I should go for? I'm tending towards repaircare, but I don't know. Cheers

Baumatic Washing Machine has gone wrong

Hi there, Here's an update I have 3 quotes 1) from Domex. £35+VAT Callout £30+VAT labour + parts 2) from repaircare. £123 callout, labour and parts fixed price. If it can't be fixed it becomes just£45 call out. 3) from baumatic service £143 for call out, fixing it and 1 years...

Baumatic Washing Machine has gone wrong

I have rang Baumatic and they will charge £143 for call out charge, fixing it and 1 years service plan. If they can't fix it I still get charged £110 call out but get a discount on another machine. Do you think this is worth it? There seems to be a few companies on the internet that will...

Baumatic Washing Machine has gone wrong

Hi folks, We have a Baumatic WDSS. On its last wash it made a dreadful noise on the final spin. Now when you move the drum its like there's something inside rubbing against it. There are also tracks going round the inside of the drum as if something sharp has come in contact with it from...

Can I replace a bath overflow?

Thanks for the help. I have a feeling I won't be able to recognise the correct product from a picture. It's also probably very old. So, since the rest of the bathroom is falling apart too :( I might just leave it and hope I can afford a new bathroom one day. Thanks again. :)

Can I replace a bath overflow?

Hi there, thanks for the response. Does that mean I need to find an exact replacement for the broken part? I was hoping there was a standard fitting. I guess different models are not compatable then? I'm not sure what it's called but it's just the turny knob thing (stop me if I'm...

Can I replace a bath overflow?

Hi all, I have a broken bath overflow, one of those ones that when you twist it the plug goes up or down. There's a little cable reaching from it to the plug. I went to B&Q to get a new one but they only sold them as a set including the plug hole etc. The reason it's broken is that it...

ok thankyou. So, so far so good? I'll just leave it be for a few weeks then add another layer? Doeas this mean I should avoid cutting the grass for a few weeks though? Thanks for the reassurance. :)

I'm worried about the sand/compost mix I've used on my lawn.

Hi all, I have a very uneven lawn and I was advised to make a 50/50 sharp sand and compost mix and then lay it in the dips in the lawn in small doses to slowly levle the lawn. So I've done this, the old grass is coming through and I've also mixed in some new seeds for good measure. The...

Hi folks, Sorry about the delay in keeping this thread going. I'd still like to find a solution to this. Can anyone some or all of the above questions? Also, is it too late to do it now without ruining the lawn for summer? Cheers
