It's actually a new system, got rid of all the copper and replased for plastic and hand flushed every rad outside with hose, so guess just fit the Magnaclean and add the Fernox on refill then? Thx

It's a brand new rad and new system with new inhibitor, can't be sludge can it? It's so annoying as there are 2 more rads on the same level which work fine. I shut them off to test and it def made it hotter but it's not consistent, sometimes it's hotter than other times. TRV is on max but...

Have a rad which has cold spot on one side and most of the bottom. Have bled and no air comes out, so what is causing the cold areas? It's one of the top rads in house so presumed it was air, but the bleed key is on the hot side so is it poss that it is indeed air but it's not finding its way...

Well I designed it, and plumbed the entire house... :) Plumber only connected up the boiler and that was only to get the cert! There's an MV on the 1st floor (3 story house) - I thought that heat wouldn't get past an MV when closed?

But surely a NRV valve would be pointless as the heat is transferring in the direction of flow anyway. Do you mean the MV is still open slightly when you say 'passing'? But then the return pipes would be warm, no? I do have TRV's on all rads but I opened these to see if heat flowed through and...

It's only on the flow. Not sure how it can be 'reverse' circulation, it's just the heat transferring surely? What is an NRV?

I have a new heating system with 6 zones using motorised valves for: UFH, 4x rad zones and HW. Hi I need to replace a 2g switch which was originally a grid switch with a 2 way and an intermediate switch for 2 floors in a hallway. If I buy a normal intermediate 2g switch, will this be ok for the what was just the 2w switch, ie. is it just a case of not connecting to all 4 connectors?
