    DeLonghi Oven not getting hot

I think the oven element has gone. This is usually found around the fan blade at the rear of the oven, it could be the thermostat but most probably the element. You need to check you are getting voltage at the element terminals.

    No sound!!

No, the CD output is not muted, and the audio lead is definitely in the CD audio socket. What gets me is even if I copy a CD track to the hard drive, when I play it in media player I get no sound, its as though the audio files are not being sent from the CD drive. I've also tried it using the...

    No sound!!

Hi I've just had a new PC built for me and I seem to have a problem with the sound. If I download a song from the net it will play OK with media player, but when I put a dvd in the DVD drive I get the picture OK but no sound. The audio cable from the DVD is plugged into the motherboard but...

Is a Roper refridgerator any good?

Never heard of em in the UK. A lot of companys buy the appliance from a main manufacturer and just put their own labels on them.

    Cabel C195/53 Fridge Freezer

Yes the fridge is OK to use, but it will eventually loose all the gas. It seems there is only enough gas in the system to half freeze the evaporator, if you don't over load the fridge it should be Ok for a while. The gas in the system also cools the compressor, and you stand the chance of the...

    Cabel C195/53 Fridge Freezer

Yes definitely the fridge has lost gas  . You say it has been regassed before, did the engineer find a leak and repair the leak?. I think that your fridge is on r134a refrigerant, and trying to find the leak is very hard, and if you do find it repairing it is also quite difficult, you...

    Cabel C195/53 Fridge Freezer

Could be a couple of things. A dodgy thermostat, or is the plate at the back of the fridge fully frosting up. if the plate is not frosting up where the thermostat sensor is attached then the compresor won't switch off, you will just get a large build up of ice on the plate. If this is the case...

    Workshop roof

The roof felt is in quite good condition, I don't think I could raise the roof at one end as it would mean removing the felt and boards. I was going to build a new roof over the existing one, as I can't remove the roof completely unless it is guaranteed not to rain

    Workshop roof

Hi again, I,m now looking at propping the sagging joists with acro props until I can get the sag out of the roof, then I'm going to sandwich the joist between 2 6"X1" either side of the joist and bolting it all together with 10mm through bolts. :? ? WHAT DO YOU THINK?

    Workshop roof

Another great idea, I think I will take the ceiling down and have a good look at the joists  Cheers for your help Tex

    Workshop roof

Good idea Tex, but I have a suspended ceiling under the joists and I am limited on room, i couldn't get another 6x2 under the main joists. If the joists have sagged would they bend back straight, only I've tried jacking them up and they seem quit solid, I'm frightened of lifting the joist off...
