    Scrim over angle bead?

Well there you go. I always run a length of mesh tape up each side of a 3mm thin coat corner bead, and 3mm stop bead. I've seen them crack and that's why I do it. Always keep the mesh tape away from the spine of the bead, by a couple of mil. You NEVER put the scrim tape over the spine of the...

Questions about skirting following remedial damp proofing

That's exactly as they did it Alastair. We used to plumb the wall up off the "ground", using wooden "dots".Still do it now if required,,, real plasterers then!

    Blown plaster

Pity we couldn't see a photo. Every time i've seen spider cracks, it's been due to drying too quick, dry background, plastering near a radiator etc. Hard to say what's caused yours then. Sometimes, cracked plaster can be hollow underneath too, you'll hear the hollow sound if you lightly run the...

    Blown plaster

Ok,, sorry about all the questions. Did you let the first coat of pva dry, before you put on the second coat of pva? The cause of "spider cracking" like that is "too much suction"/ drying to quick".

    Blown plaster

Ok, Did you put multi finish straight onto the dry Bonding, or did you prep it first? what are the cracks like, are they straight cracks, or are they like spiders legs, going in alk directions? A couple of pics would be great really. Plaster will crack if it dries out too quick, or if the...

Questions about skirting following remedial damp proofing

You will need to patch/plaster the walls down another 2 or 3 inches or so, for the new skirting to fit up against, but keeping the plaster clear of floor level is the main thing. As long as you leave a gap of an inch clear of the floor, no problem.

Questions about skirting following remedial damp proofing

No wall should ever be plastered right down to floor level, more so with a "solid floor", as it could draw up any damp from within the floor.

    Plastering On To Dry Plaster

Forgot to say,,; why not get the "plasterer" who did your job, to come back and do it properly, you should not touch it really.

    Plastering On To Dry Plaster

PVA the area and "let it dry" to kill any suction. When dry, PVA the area again, then plaster onto the area while the PVA is still wet/tacky. NEVER PLASTER ONTO DRY PVA.

    Render Cure/Hardening Time

In my opinion, it sounds as if it's no use. Although a sand n cement mix needs to set and cure, it shouldn't turn to powder if you touch it a week on. I think the mix was to sandy to start with, and that's where the problem lies. I also wouldn't spray it with water. As Bobasd said, you can buy...
