    Top Hand saws ???

What sort of life span do you expect from a "throwaway" handsaw ? I've been using Irwin jack saws for quite awhile, but the last couple don't seem to be as good, they still appear quite sharp when starting off a cut, but as the blade enters the timber, it becomes harder to use as if there is...

Acme single camber roof tiles and flashing

Cheers noseall, sounds like a plan, by "strip out a ladder" i presume you put everything in place and then just remove some tiles, i did wonder about doing just a few rows all the way up the wall and then fitting the flashing

Acme single camber roof tiles and flashing

Just tiling a roof on an extension with the above tiles, will need to do flashing down one edge where it buts up to the exsisting house (ridge line is lower ) I'm not sure if i should be doing the flashing in sections as we go up the roof, as i'm concerned about possibly breaking the tiles if...

    Kitchen "task" lighting

I'm not having much luck with the search facility, but i'm looking for some kitchen lights to light worktop areas, they can be wall or ceiling mounted (not keen on cutting holes in ceiling for downlights) There will be no wall cupboards so under cupboard lights are a no go. Quite like the idea...

    Is it worth being green

Maybe i didn't explain things very well in my initial post, the point i was trying to make was that we are constantly bombarded with "save energy" type schemes but when you are economical, you pay more !!! We are told that oil and gas supplies may become more expensive etc because supplies may...

    Is it worth being green

So my 1 delivery of 1500+ litres should cost me more than the 3 plus deliveries to next door, who have restricted access, so a small tanker is sent, but there is now only one small tanker on the north wales coast / cheshire area, so its sent out specially

    Is it worth being green

I've just enquired about filling up my bulk lpg gas tank, have been quoted 56.25 pence per litre, which seems very expensive to me. Just asked my next door neighbour how much she is paying and its 39 pence per litre. So i've been back in touch with the supplier and apparently its because i'm...

Just an after thought, if the valve was jammed open should the heating then work ? Although if the orange wire loses its feed then the pump would need another feed

    Boss Therm 2 port valve

The heating has just gone off while i've been watching the motor, pump stops running valve closes, loose power to orange wire, but brown wire remains live, So is this the microswitch thats at fault rather than the motor ? It doesn't appear the heads can be changed on these valves otherwise...
