    Lead valley / gutter

Thanks for your reply justlead, i've just searched for the "t-pren" it seems an ideal product although very expensive. Would a conventional style joint which would hold back a small pool of water be a problem ? (who is the mystery lead man in my area, thought he may of made a comment on here...

corsa lacking power, emmisions light flashing

I would suspect the coil pack(s) not sure if they are linked or seperate on the 1.2 engine they are situated on the top of the spark plugs. Don't waste money on cat or oxy sensor, until you've tried the coil packs, the codes are telling you you've got a cylinder misfire, the vauxhall warning...

    Lead valley / gutter

I'm having problems with the lead work in the valley between my house and next door, the lead was mistakenly fitted in one length and is now cracking, with slight leaks in both properties (stains on bedroom wall) I realise that the lead should be in shorter pieces, but cannot find much info...

    Sterilize 'em?

I don't think you would need to go as far as sterilizing them, there is a natural form of birth control which could be used :- Stop all their benefits and any financial help . Child benefit should be restricted to a maximum of 2 kids, any more you finance them yourselves, if you need a bigger...

    What Would You Do?

If it was me I would go ahead and rewire, do all the tests etc. and keep all paperwork. If there are any problems let them take you to court, show the judge your qualifications etc. Whilst i agree that Part P is supposedly cutting out dodgy diy practice, i rule which prevents a qualified...

    car trouble

If you mean removing the driveshafts from the transmission, on vw's they are normally "round" bolts with internal "spline" (not allen key type but multi spline) can sometimes be moved with "mole" grips

    Vauxhall corsa power problem

If the diagnostic check is showing no codes logged, then the individual sensors need checking (with diagnostics scanner) But from your description and the fact no fault code is logged i would suspect the air flow sensor

    Panicking!!! Possible Asbestos exposure

I find this sort of thing quite amusing really (not refering to the op particularly by the way) " oh my god i've been in contact with asbestos, its dangerous and might make me ill" and yet we manufacture sell and burn millions of "cancer sticks" !!!! The health risks from something as...

Astra - how do I fix a faulty ball bearing?

The wheel bearing comes as a hub unit on this model (you do not need to press bearings in or out) The hub is bolted in, although "torx" type bolts are used. You need to remove the wheel, brake caliper, brake disc, drive shaft split pin and nut, seperate the bottom ball joint, knock out the...

    wheel nuts

I think a lot of the national chain type companies use a torque wrench nowadays for final tightening. Personally i always finally tighten with torque wrench or breaker bar, and normally go easy on the locking nut especially if it looks worn BUT I suppose technically the locking nut should also...

    Disabled access ramp

I would put a post into the socket, so that it is well above ground level, and support it with timber props as you would do with a fence post. I would of thought that would give a much better chance of getting post vertical etc. I would put socket/post in place before i poured concrete, make...
