Square Drainage Adaptor 65mm To Round 40mm pipe?

By law You shouldn't connect a gutter to your sewer system, it should feed into a soak away. Your water supplier will not be happy if they do a unannounced visit, it happened in older properties but standards have long since changed.

Stop tap in street, not sure if leaking

That would be for a meter, I assume you're on rates. The tap is on the right.

Halstead BCCs (boiler control chips) - I'm totally baffled

The chip is required so the PCB knows which appliance it's fitted too. So without this chip the PCB will not progress. More than likely there's been a upgrade to the boards. A new PCB would have a selection of chips supplied with it. It's been a while since I've worked on a Eden, but...

Stop tap in street, not sure if leaking

Generally they don't leak, lots around here are completely flooded with water. Mains pressure would fill that up if there's poor drainage. Try and clean around the stopcock a bit, no good having compost down there.

Fitting a Fernox TF1 filter with limited space

Spirotech produce a easy to fit filter, nothing to service or clean, just jet the muck out the bottom. http://www.spirotrapmb3.co.uk/ As for your situation, have the system cleaned using a Powerflush machine, the filter will catch anything that passes through it, but it won't "Clean" a...

single loud bang when dhw motorised valve shuts

Same effect can be made if you remove the head and twist the spindle by hand, waters changing direction quickly causing the pipes to shudder. The head could be faulty, skipping teeth and slamming shut, should be a smooth return.

Do not buy from Vaillant if you would like any after sales

Vaillant technical, parts, and after sales have always been good for me. Why did you get them round in the first place?

British Gas Advising New Boiler Due to Obsolete Parts

The 24i will be on a "Reduced" Part list. That can range from anything, case to something major, this isn't uncommon on many makes, mostly on appliances over 10 years old. If its working with no problems, then thats good news for you, at least you've been advised :)

Moving to house without central heating

You can but you should be walking over them on a regularly. Have to be marked out above ground these days, their really cracking down on regulations.

    Old hot water system

Their fed by built in tanks on the top of the unit, if there's no stat then it's on a gravity system and boiler controls the temperature, you'll see 4 pipes coming out of the boiler. Make sure the stat on the boilers turn up to 3 or 4. If its still not working then its more than likely the...

Moving to house without central heating

The regulations for LPG are awful. Distances from boundaries will normally mean your tank ends up in the middle of the garden. There are deals with Calor but you have to meet some strict checks. I'd go for oil. I have a oil fired Grant Combi Votex Pro, can supplied as a external or...

Help!! Ideal Isar HE24 working but display dead

    First Post/ Gas/ Cooker/ Boiler/ no idea. Gas Safe?

Why does it need a isolator? The bayonet is self sealing :D Anyway it's too close to the ground, the hose will be on the ground, should hang nice a loose, not half under the appliance, and who puts a plug on the floor, and no isolator that I can see within easy reach? Spill a pan and BANG...

Worcester 24i combi boiler problems with rads getting hot

The 24i has a twin heat exchanger. If its scaled up then its going to have awful time transferring the heat over to the cold flowing water, this heats going to leak into the heating circuit. If its making a right racket when running a tap the heat exchanger or pipework would be my first point of...

    First Post/ Gas/ Cooker/ Boiler/ no idea. Gas Safe?

The gas pipe isn't great, a above ground rerun will solve that. As for the cooker, have it serviced, its more than likely there's a internal leak if your smelling gas, blocked injectors, blocked taps if the burners aren't igniting.

Bit of a strange combi boiler problem

Diverter valve is jammed. A renewal kit will have everything required, wouldn't hurt to change the diaphragm as well.

    Vaillant ecotec plus boiler

Anything above 60c on the Central Heating dial. I normally set them around 65' you can ramp it up in the winter if you feel it's not hot enough. The Hot water dial is redundant if you haven't already been told :) If there's children around you don't want the radiators screaming hot tho...

Pilot cutting out on Baxi Boston 2 floor standing Boiler

Later Bostons a interrupter, basic stuff. Check stat, wiring, flue pull, scummy pilot etc etc... Any Gas Engineer should know this. I miss basic boilers. I'm trying to picture a Boston, haven't seen one in a while now, can't remember if the stat is a flue or overheat stat  I'm...

    Which New Boiler...

Nothing wrong with the Logic. Ideal have been around for a long old time. I personally don't rate Worcester at the moment, the Greenstar is full of plastic and their proving to be a bit unreliable. Glowworm Ultracom 2 looks to be a good buy, their cheaper than some and have the know how of...
