    Should radiator pipes be chased

Looks tidy and neat. You can always paint them, or make show of them and polish the pipes up.

Living room heating up 1C/hour with replacement combi SOLVED

Which I did notice, hence why it needs cutting down. But for the life of me I can't remember if you can program the Worcesters into a lower Central Heating Demand.

Living room heating up 1C/hour with replacement combi SOLVED

Information overload. :| I'd get a Engineer, your looking a bit deep into this. Over complicated way at looking at cool radiators? They should check the flow and returns, the setting the boiler is at for Heating Output, restrictions etc. You've got 5 Radiators, sounds like the system needs...

    Potterton Suprima 30L - 100L, Boilermate 2 - Problems

The Suprima should be set to maximum on the thermostat, it has to keep your Boilermate up to temperature, that's its only job in life. The pump will run on if the Boilermate struggling to reach temperature, the thermostat is in a pocket, fairly straight forward to swap but of course safe...

Boiler "Immediately Dangerous" on flue external CO

Very true it's a room sealed appliance, but that makes zero difference if it's burning incomplete. If there's big yellow flames or a high readings it has to be shut off and investigated. You could get a leak of products coming back into the house via the wall cavity, an open window, a break in...

Boiler "Immediately Dangerous" on flue external CO

It annoys allot of us to be honest. I've had to call Transco as it then was to cut off a gas supply after the customer refused me permission to disconnect the appliance as it was unsafe. Too many people think your after their money :(

Boiler "Immediately Dangerous" on flue external CO

It's at Risk after the Engineer has cleaned the burners, heat exchanger, fan, inspected the flue and Checked the burner pressure. If they still can't get the readings down under a required level then they will call it At Risk. A flue that is corroded will allow the combustion products to be...

Conventional boiler.... comeback Combi all is forgiven!

How do I give someone a poor deal? Been able to order the parts for next day in most scenarios, same evening/nightime emergency call outs which I do alot of, and a healthy van stock means I'm quiet a welcoming sight to customers. Of course there are times things can't be fixed, but thats when...

Conventional boiler.... comeback Combi all is forgiven!

Hate to say it, but you've already said that. Norfolk is one of the worst areas for Hard Water, a Combimate is really the only way to slow it down, as I feel the need to repeat; boilers can scale solid in 4 months around here. Hot water cylinders can be protected rather well with a...

Conventional boiler.... comeback Combi all is forgiven!

I shall rephrase it, a oversized Combi with a thermal store then. The whole point of the Store was that its quick and easy to install with everything bar the appliance in one box, mostly because a Combi, at the time, couldn't deliver the demand required. I'm sure these ATAGs are super, I...

Conventional boiler.... comeback Combi all is forgiven!

What's a high quality Combi, in your opinion? I attend allot of breakdowns on Combi's, carry case full of Combi Service kits on my van, along with more PCB's than I can remember, I also attend to breakdowns on Systems too so have a fully supply of diverter and zone valves, pumps and parts...

Conventional boiler.... comeback Combi all is forgiven!

I never seen a Atag boiler  The largest "Combi" I've come across are boilermates, in the various styles. As we know its a Thermal Store with a plate or coil with a boiler chugging away on full chat to keep that store around 60C. Basic what a Combi does, correct? Could argue a...

Gas boiler in loft-like space w access via bedroom -Problem?

Good access is required, if you fix a loft ladder, boarding to the appliance, a power point and light then no one should have a problem with maintaining your boiler. There should be a guard around the loft hatch, but to be honest it's so rarely seen I clean forget about that requirement, haven't...

Conventional boiler.... comeback Combi all is forgiven!

The problem with Plumbers and Heating engineers is neither side will win, I blame the market that is flooded with different ways to do the same job

Conventional boiler.... comeback Combi all is forgiven!

Only replaced a handful of relief and reducing valves, and one of those was after the softener burst filling the filter with junk, couldn't save it. Many chaps don't recharge the vessels, and then theirs the dripping Megaflows which just need resetting. I attend far to many Combi's.

Conventional boiler.... comeback Combi all is forgiven!

Lucky I don't deal with trade conter know it alls. I'm quiet independent on my thoughts even tho I work for the largest utility and service company in the gas industry going. I have seen lots of good combi's, tho I do remember the old ones. I'm impressed with the quality of the new Ultracom2...
