    Pick any Baxi or Potterton "B" rated combi and download their instructions. But basically, tappets in are "on" (I think), switch to bottom setting, set clock to read current time.

    I've had mine for 4 or 5 years and it's paid for itself many times over. I also hire it out to other rgi's as and when needed. But most of my work is on installs and very little maintenance / repairs.

    Just get someone to do the work properly and inform your plumber that he has 'x' days to pick his boiler up, else you will dispose of it and bill him for the expense. Do not pay him, let him sue you if he thinks he has a case. It could not be simpler.

    Blimey! it's not often you get a real, live illegal install happening before your very eyes - this is better than TV. Any chance that the OP could film the meeting, or at least wear some sort of disguise like they do on Rogue Traders? Decent pipe work though.
