    Its highly likely that they have joined a WEEE complanace scheme. They must "declare" the ammount of WEEE they put ount onto the market per annum and are charged depending upon that amount. The fee for the lamp will be an add on cost to cover them for there loss.

    ok so you oven has a rating of just over 9.5A so its fine on 1.5 cable (so long as the run is not too long) but to be honest you really should put in larger cable for future preference if you can afford to. No you definatly cannot put this on the ring main cct as the 30A fuse will not protect...

    Make a fake board: Get a piece of MDF bout 1.5mx1.5m Stick on a CU (with RCD), Put a ring circuit on it, A radial, A two way lighting circuit, 2 pipes to simulate Gas and Water (connect up your bonding). Wire the cu with a 3 pin plug on it so you can do your live tests and there you go you...

    How much testing have you done Mike? you should be able to demonstrate that you can PIR the installation. I see your point about it being old but so what the tests dont differ any (with the exception of an RCD)

    I have an imported Jap PS3 game "RR7" and it doesnt work in a UK console. Like I say the early model PS3 cosoles were region free for blue-ray Discs maybe they just decided to keep making them regioin free.
