    Arrrggghhhh dog chewed thru cable!!!!

I think the consensus is that what I have done is not safe  I won't plug it in I promise! The darn dog chewed it about 3ft from the appliance so fixing a plug is feasible with an extension. What do you use if you want to extend a cable without using an extension cable then?

    Arrrggghhhh dog chewed thru cable!!!!

:x Flippin dog (who we are looking after for a mate!) has chewed through the cable of my Hair straighteners and I need them for the morning...grrrrrr Out of desperation I've attempted to repair the damage. I chopped the cable in half and stripped back the wires and re-joined them together by...

Oh my head is pounding just at the thought of all the work in store for you RT :? We got our priorities straight at the beginning and plumbed in a dish washer months before we actually had a kitchen sink!!! It was a Godsend! Good luck with it all. Try and take piccies as you progress and...

Our never ending bathroom project [pics]

Nothing as major as the bathroom, thankfully all the structural stuff was done prior to us moving in properly 3 years ago (yest it's taken 3 years to sort out the bathroom  ) Just plastering the hallway left to do now (3 floors worth!!). Suddenly the scabby walls have become an eyesore...

 I can relate to the 'sigh' in your video chippie, I did that so many times during the project. Nice job by the way. Our original bathroom was smaller than yours!! Loo roll holder is from Ikea and no it's not actually that far away, just an arms reach, I think small children would...

 Breezer , I'm sure the p is not being taken!!!! Nor is there any gas between my boards  Hi Ewans, we sealed the gaps using decorators caulk and painted over using Dulux Quick Drying Eggshell. Before everyone gasps in horror at this method, this does actually work  It...

Cheers Nick, we got the t&g from Bee and Kew (...you know what I mean  ) and it was really good value - just £3.48 for a pack of 5 (but it wasn't the value stuff). It was a little knotty but we took a risk and didn't bother with knot sealant and just painted them with kitchen and...

Let's just say there wasn't a right angle in the entire room so we had to force things to fit  (I had to hide the spirit level from my OH.) Don't dis my chair :x it's 'shabby chic' and I won't have anyone say any different!

Woooohooo!!! Finished at last  Unfortunately we drank the champagne after a moment of weakness one evening so we'll have to get some more!!! Well maybe not quite finished cos we just need to sort out the window instead of shoving cardboard up there each time we...

Nice Maxxy :D It's good to do a garden bit by bit, less disruption. I wish we had room for a proper water feature with running water. I'll bet the sound of the mini waterfall is really relaxing (tho knowing me I'd be nipping of to the loo every ten minutes ) What are the...

The deciding factor was the fact that the outside edge to the tray has a lip which the glass butts up to and I would've had to cut the shape out of two tiles for it to fit snug. We chose the less fidly option as neither of us really know what we are doing

 Not to worry Nick, the sink and the cabinet are attached to 5x5cm timber studs and the front is 12mm ply not plasterboard (tho' the sides are). Just waiting in now for our plumber to arrive. He's got an awful lot to do today including fitting up a D-shaped shower  rather him...
