Like I said the sides taper, so the top comes out further than the bottom. The top of the pan will butt to the wall but the sides will be open. Does that make sense :? ?

I had exactly your problem tryitandsee. I found out that I just could not get a toilet with an 'S' trap, so I gave up trying. I've ended up getting a normal 'P' trap toilet off ebay which will push against the wall and allow enough space for a 90 degree pan connector which will go into...

At the moment we have painted wooden floor boards on our stairs and throughout our second floor and it's wearing quite well. We painted them with approx 5 or 6 layers of water based eggshell which stands up to wear and the occasional mopping. Is there any reason why this should be avoided...

Sorry I'm being dim :oops: does that mean the 1 1/2 " standard size refers to the pipe width and not the actual width of the fitting itself ? The actual hole for the overflow and plug on my bath is 2" (in fact it's just over 2").

My new bath has a 2" overflow opening but all the bath combined overflow and wastes I've seen seem to be a standard 1 1/2 ". Will I have a problem on my hands finding the right size or are the holes always 2"? Also, pop up plugs, should they be avoided? Thank you :)

That's why I mentioned that it was a lath and plaster wall built before plasterboard was invented :? I thought the distance between studs might've been different back then So they didn't space them out 18" then as mentioned by Nige F? :roll:

It's actually lath and plaster walls I'm enquiring about. Reason being, I need to fix a rather heavy towel radiator to an inside wall and the weight of it will probably bring down the lath and plaster (the 'orrible black type :x )!! My plan is to locate the studs and position some horizontal...

Hi Softus :D would you know if Dow Corning 785 comes in grey? I want to use grey grout so I suppose the sealant needs to match. If so is it easy to obtain?
