heating wont come on on its own

It sounds like she may have a basicset up with NO Port Valves. Herhot water might be working off of gravity and her CH is pumped so basically the pump may be the only control on the system. When she selects HW all that happens is that the boiler firs up andthe heat circulates thru gravity. When...

Separate heat sources for HW and CH?

If hot water isyour main concern maybeyou should consider fitting a HE System boiler and a Megaflow. This will give you ur hot water u require andstill have theefficiency u are looking for. Downside is thesize of Megaflow , but this could possibly go in loft with boiler??

    push button cistern

The trickle of watergoing into the toilet means it is either overflowing or has something small stuck atthe bottom of the flushing valve thus not allowing it to seat properly. I would reduce the fill level first and see how that goes. BTW , if water trickles into the toilet it means it IS...

Blocked Pipe - could it be related to cavity wall insulation

Very doubtful that the cavity insulation has done the damage as it is just fibres blown into the wall. Most likely the waste pipe has frozen outside because of the severe weather. If bath is empty pour some boiling water down it and pour some boiling water on outside drain pipe. It will...

Is the Vaillant ecoTec Plus Combination Boiler suitable ??

It is my experience that when an existing bathroom is fed of off storage(ie. tank fed) , BG want to fit an open vent system to save changing bathroom from storage to mains water. generally this is because of leaks due to addedwater pressure. TBH i have done it a hundred times and had no real...

    Immersion heater stuck

U will probably need to heat it with a blow torch. This loosens it off and breaks up the original seal allowing it to turn. U may have to heat it up a lot before it budges. ie the brass will almost be glowing!!. Clear away the insulation around the immerser before heating it up or it will...
