whenever i use 1 of these tile cutters i wear a bin liner.other wise it looks like ive taken a shower fully clothed.
you might of got away with this if you had only done a few lines high and let it all dry.

if its only a 1 off job,AND you do own a router then buy a cheap bit,it will do the job just fine.only a light sanding afterwards.
if you dont own a router,then as already mentioned either a block plane or a smoothing plane will do the job,if using a plane?what i would suggest is using a finger...
i used to work with an old school carpet fitter,who used to hand stitch carpets back,seamlessly.
im in no doubt there is a modern day version using adhesive.
you will have to make sure the lay of the carpet is matched aswell as any pattern in it.
sounds like cobblers to me,
exterior timber is open to the elements,it gets rained on,it gets blown on and it gets heated by the sun.
so it is going to move,jet washing it removes all the crud that gets built up over time.
i used to jet wash my deck all the time to remove moss and general slime...
get a long tape,drop the end to the outside floor write that measurement down.then retracked it,then feed it up the other way and write that measurement down,hey presto thats the height,then ask the hirer what height you need.
