Unless you're desperate for the work, I'd be inclined to walk away and tell her why.

    63A 3-phase 6 pin plug

Yeah, the ones they quoted were 313-1804 (not 236-0433, which has now been superceded) and they don't have the centre pin.

    63A 3-phase 6 pin plug

I tried RS Components as it had their part no on the side, but the one they recommended only had 5-pins (i.e. no pilot pin).

    63A 3-phase 6 pin plug

This plug has the usual L1, L2, L3, +N +E, but also has a smaller pin in the middle marked Pilot. Does anyone know how it is supposed to be wired up and also what cable do you use? [/img]

    Welder tripping MCB

Do you happen to know what oil to use if it needs topping up? As you can see it's pretty dirty and oilly everywhere, so the chances are it will need topping up.

    Welder tripping MCB

Yeah, it is oil immersed, and although I don't know what type of MCB it is at the moment I might well be considering using D type. Also it doesn't appear to be RCD protected!

    Welder tripping MCB

A welder is tripping the 15A MCB. The current range is 25A - 300A . Obviously, the MCB needs upgrading, but what about cable size as well? If it is rated at 300A, does that mean 100A per phase and if so how can you work out the MCB and cable size to something that is going to be...

    Telephone cable voltage query

The supply is BT. The guy who installed the telephones put in a lot of extensions, so that in order to dial out you have to dial 9 first to get an outside line. HTH.

    Telephone cable voltage query

I am connecting a speech dialler from an alarm panel and when I checked the voltage of the telephone cable it only measured 39.4v. Will this be sufficient not to cause any problems later on. The telephone on the extension works OK.

Wiring a door contact with EOL resistors

I'm installing a Texecom Excel panel with EOL resistors (10k & 22k). As far as wiring in the PIRs I'm ok, but not so sure when it comes to wiring in a door contact. One core will go to one side of the alarm terminal in which there is also one leg of the 22k resistor. The other leg of the 22k...

Best Way to Add RCD Protection?

Wylex do both type B & C. So if you were wanting to change say a 32A MCB to a 32A RCBO it would be NSBS32-B1. Whereas a 'C' curve would just be NSBS32. Hope that clears it up for you. :)
