Cold radiator, tried everything i can think of

To me it sounds like its filling up via the return pipe and thats why its cold. Replace the other valve and remove the 2 tails from the rads, then try clean out the rad with a garden hose. Stick it all back together. Does hot water come out of the flow pipe?

    Old Glow worm Back Boiler

Thanks for the Response, unfortunately i can put a indirect in as we don't have access to the loft space and it would involve running a F&E through the property above (maisonette). Is it possible that thermistor or another temp sensing device is knackered? The cylinder has no thermostat btw.

    plaster or C/H first

Ask your Plumbers advice, he may prefer to do a "first fix" as well. Running all pipes under the floor etc and coming back later to mounts rads and commission system.

    plaster or C/H first

If it was me i would run all the pipes to where the rads are going to be then cap them off. Get it plastered, painted and skirting fixed. Hang the radiators last. If you drill the holes for the pipes up before plastering (boarding) and getting skirting fixed then the holes will likely need...

    Boiler power remains on

Remove the head off the MV's and then switch the heating/hot water on from you programmer or wherever you switch it on from and see if the motors move. Maybe check the frost and room stat to see if they are calling for heat when the shouldn't be. Did it ever work properly?

Fitting Central Heating *now with plan*

I say go for it, you do not need a RGI to do the plumbing, most of the corgi guys i know have little knowledge of actual plumbing (running water pipes etc) Depending on the house you have you would either use a 22 mm run with tees coming off to the rads or use a manifold and a microbore system...

    white and grey jg speedfit

Yes its fine to mix the new grey with the white stuff. The white pipe is very stiff and thats normal, it can be straightened up before install just by bending it back (if it came coiled) or you can buy straight lengths of it in 3 and 6 meters iirc. It can sometimes be hard to push the pipe in...
