    unusual plumbing for DHW

The DHW port of the 3 way goes to 1 pipe on the salamander and the other pipe on the salamander goes to the return back to the boiler. Is that what your asking?

Any combis beefy enough for two showers?

Any particular reason why you want a combi? You should look at an unvented system that way you can still have immersion back up just incase a fault occurs. 6xx series valliant are well regarded if you go down that route. In my opinion a big combi should do ok with 2 showers going.

    PTFE round olives

It looks carp imo. Better off with nothing or some hawk or boss compound. Some plumbers tighten them more than others and i think thats where the whole difference of opinion comes from with regards to compounds and ptfe. I tend to tighten my joints until the squeal!

    Direct Megaflo question

Ok guys, i have a Megaflo to fit next week. Its a direct one with 2 x 3kw immersion heaters. Unfortunately the customers consumer unit and current wiring will not allow us to wire in both heaters at the same time. Is it possible to wire it with just one heater working until the electrical...

What is the exact model of the boiler? Is it a combi with a DHW cylinder attached?

    Unvented questions

Its not a case of who wins, the water that is circulated at 80c through the system regardless of what the room stat or cylinder stat call for. The water in the cylinder takes heat from the coil and when that body of water( the water that comes out the hot tap) is up to temp (60c) the stat then...

    Unvented questions

    1. Yes 2. The stat on the cylinder tells the motorized valve/boiler that the water is up to temperature. This closes the valve and tells the boiler to shut down unless a roomstat is calling for heat. 3.Yes. 90c is far far to warm set it to 60-65c. One stat is the overheat stat which is...

yes you can get NR valves for waste pipe, however they are supposed to be easily accessible as they can clog easily. McAlpine do them iirc.

    Rothenberger Benders

Anyone here tried the Rothenberger Robend benders? I currently have a normal 15/22mm hand bender and access to a hilmor stand bender. Both do the job, however i like the look of the plastic guides (slippy and non marking) on the robend...

Where does it say that? What should it cost then? To the OP: My old man recently passed his ACS at the age of 53 after 0 years experience plumbing, he was a mechanic for 30 years which gave him a great background in fault finding and diagnostics. He is now employed as a gas service...

Regs for shower waste connecting to soil stack

Fitting it further down stream (if possible) will sort that out.

Regs for shower waste connecting to soil stack

I don't think very many people adhere to the 75mm seal tbh, i don't. Just use what fits easy. You could use a HEPv0 valve instead, perfect for this situation actually.

Why does central heating water go black?

Its possible that the installer did a fine job, added inhibitor and over those three years the inhibitor has been diluted by topping up. Maybe it was drained to fit another radiator in that time? Solution would be to run it with some x400 and then drain again 3-4 week later then refill with...
